I was on a months holiday last year in Cyprus and remember watching an old local fishermen in his little boat bringing in his catch and then witnessing him thrash the life out of a Octopus against the small harbour wall either to kill it and or tenderize it, couldn't bring myself to get up close and ask!

You can get just over kilo and a half for 6 Squid.

How Morrison's has changed. Not that long since it had much lower prices than the competition with Vesta chow mein and frozen prawns being the most exotic foods on offer. The move up market will end in tears.

Huh, don't fancy my tongue and lips round a pair of tentacles do you?, you never know where they've been.

"Do you know I eat octopus three times a day? I got f****** octopus coming out of my f****** ears, Meng"

Think of it as a lessor of evils. The beef mince or burgers on sale probably contain parts that have been surrounding a bulls bum.

Keep eating the pretty meat that magically appears in plastic trays.

You're missing out. The octopus probably wouldn't want you to eat him anyway.

8 thumbs up from me !

We always had octopus for Christmas lunch - tasted awful but we all got a leg

I don't think anybody should be eating an animal with as much intelligence as an octopus. I've never eaten one and never will.

Sorry but voted cold.

Never tried but want too.Does it taste like squid?

So you think that chickens are stupid and deserve it? Thats a hate crime!! I don't eat things with a cute face (bunnies, lambs, horses). I ensure that their heads are cleanly severed first

I take it you don't eat pork either?

Thanks for posting this deal.

Times are hard and with a large family to feed this Easter, what better way to ensure that there's a leg for everyone !

Cheers.

I'm not scientist but I have not seen any of them playing chess against each other... We gotta decide which one is smarter in some way...

Me and the wife had an Indian last night, we had curried Pelican.

It was the best curry I've ever had, but the bill was enormous

Love octupus on holiday so lets see what it is like when mass produced. You would be a sucker not to try this.

I do eat pork.

We know depressingly little about octopi so far, but what we have shown is that their intelligence exceeds that of a pig, or any other commonly eaten 'livestock'.

I can't stand Morrisons, no thanks!

Huge Morrisons just about to open near me,are they at the cheap end of supermarkets then? I have never been to one before

Why you no like Morrisons? I love Morrisons much better than my local boring Tesco store.

Stick to fish fingers and leave deals like these to people with a sense of taste and an open mind, there's a good chap.

Tenderise but it also did put an end to it if it was still alive after harpooning it

Interestingly these are farmed octopus and as a result are actually at a higher trophic level up the food chain than you

Are these free range octopusses? Or is it octopii? Either way cold from me until I know that this was a happy octopus before it was killed for me to eat.

The beating is for tenderizing. You can achieve the same thing by freezing it and defrosting, but that also changes the texture somewhat.

What's an Octopus' favourite Beatles song?
