Nice, might have to check this out.

If you're struggling for a use for them, this lemonade recipe is so quick and easy and really good (as good as the stuff you pay >£1 for in delis/nice cafes):

Your point is.....?

What does unwaxed mean? Obviously not waxed... but what does waxed mean?

The waxing is something certain places do to make the lemons appear more shiny, which is meant to make them more appealing.

They sometimes spray them with shellac (beetle juice) to make them shiny, and supposedly keep them fresher. Waxed lemons aren't always vegetarian friendly.

Thank you for all the constructive answers! I was genuinely curious!

Also, waxed lemons are meant to be de-waxed before zesting them. Unwaxed all the way!

So when you go into Tesco and pick up loose lemons, are they waxed or unwaxed?

Do limes come in waxed varieties too?

Lots of vodka deals at the moment to make lemoncello!

Unless they state otherwise, I would assume they are waxed yes. Not sure about limes, but probably do the same to them to make them look pretty and to keep em fresh.

It's not an issue if they are, unless you want to use the rind for cooking etc
