£5.47Morrisons Deals
Morrisons fresh whole salmon is half price again - £5.47kg 'till 5th April
My local Morrison's fishmongers are very helpful. They will always top and tail and cut a whole salmon into 6 double portions, seal in 6 individual bags and put in a large bag with the whole salmon price attached

Here
which would be ....... ?
I've found that Morrisons fishmongers will always fillet and cut up a whole salmon whereas many Asda customers claim that they won't.
For me, this is worth the extra
Not votin Op.

Well Asda did it for me. But if you want edible portions without the head, tail, bones etc. then you need to add about 75% of the 'whole' salmon cost to get the edible portion cost - so @£4 per kg = ~£7 and @£5.47 per kg = ~£9 per kg
Hope that is of help to those of you without a cat!
Poor quality. Take asda bakers and compare it to morrisons. No comparison.
Good Maths Mate Well done....
I prefer filleted, portioned and repacked dead fish and I can't find anything similar to this on the Asda website
Agree! I loved watching the fishmonger use the mallet to drive the knife into the thick salmon - it is almost an art form! Hurray to the Asian Fishmonger in Becontree branch!
And if you do a little dance, get on your hands and knees, and slip them a couple of quid.
What kind of deal is it,if they only get 9 fish for the whole day.
But Asda never clean up the bones or cut your fish and belive me: you don't want to do this at home with a whole salmon.
wages...in sterling id guess, paid into his/her bank on a monthly basis
May be Asda, definitely not Morrison's Salmon fish.Very lovely, tender and succulent.
Fishes, cakes or chops.
I just asked for a £14 -£15 one and the helpful fishmonger, after weighing, found one, filleted it, cut it into 12 portions, bagged into 6 sealed double portion bags and put the contents into a large sealed bag for checkout.
The pre-bagged whole salmon already had the tail section missing, so for the price conscious, you can discount that small weight in the labelled price
The benefits (or not) of the Asda deal have already been discussed and dissected on this thread, apparently (on request) unlike the Asda whole salmon - when it's available
Not nearly as much as they should i was a baker for safeway/Morrisons 20 yrs and it's hard graft ,and all the oven and prover work was by memory not timers like they have these days wasn't even an extra 50p an hour extra
Well asda don't train their staff to be fishmongers anymore so the trained staff are in short supply. I can serve on the counter but cannot fillet the fish. This can be quite frustrating to the public. As for how much do the trained staff get paid, the same as any other colleague
The little white threads you can see in some fresh salmon puts me off. Sometimes they wiggle....
If you don't fancy filleting it yourself you can select the salmon from the shelf, take it to the fish counter and ask the nice Morrisons fishmonger to fillet the fish to whatever spec you require and then kindly re bag and seal the portions up ready for the freezer.
If I freeze it straight away it's always fresh enough for me when I eventually use it
