I was gonna say that not many red dwarf references about these days. Made me chuckle.

you have reeled me in (groan) Hot - will pop in tonight

Could anyone suggest a recipe that they would recommend?

I'll check the one in woking and report here

Nice fish, but don't expect it to be a whopper at this price.

Pan fry it with a butter and splash of lemon.

Sea bass is a tasty fish. You don't need to drown out the flavour with a load of other stuff.

Serve it with sauted potatoes and a salad.

Sorted!

MIx a dash of white wine, juice of one lemon, some thinly sliced lemon, some olive oil, rosemary sprigs and a tin of artichoke hearts. Season fish well, place in baking dish, stuff cavity with lemon and hearts with remainder scattered in dish, pour marinade over. Bake in preheated oven (about 210-220) for 20-25 minutes. Yummy.

Fish are friends not food.... Deeeenial!!

Voted hot, Good Fin-d X)

This may be a really stupid question but when you say whole do you mean head and guts and all?? oO

They will be gutted (well wouldn't you be if you landed on a slab at Morrissons !)

Thanks.

We cooked Jamie's 30 minute meals at the weekend which included Sea Bass, was yummy. I might cook it again this week if I can get hold of some more Sea Bass at that price!

Nationwide don't sell fish last time I checked. That is a pretty awesome price, did they have any cheap chicken merango per chance?

Kick his ass Sea Bass!

Will one sea bass feed 2 people?

Cold. Egh, smells and looks like the Mrs when shes fermenting!

The fish are gutted and you can either pick them up from the fresh counter or packaged in the 'fresh' section. I bought 2 fish at 1.75 and they also had packs with 2 fish in for £3.50 so we bought some of those as well. We usually pay about £5-£6 for 4 fillets (enough for 2) so this is a good deal.

I caught you a delicious bass.

none in my local

sounds tasty- will have to try ,thanks

£1.80 in Asda all week, should be nationwide, for those that don't have a Morrison's nearby.

I work on the Fish/Butchery at Asda and these are £1.80 per fish at least once a month there.

I could be mistaken but that sea bass in op picture looks uncannily like the haddock
I cooked earlier in the evening.

no chance - the ones I saw in my morrisons at the weekend were tiny, and I mean really small. I was appalled that they were landed being only about 8 inches long!

Bought 50 to flog on eBay. Thanks!

Arrrrrrrggggghhhh!!!!!!!!

LOL!!

Great price. Don't forget to check the gills and make sure they are nice and bright and that goes for the eyes as well.
Ask your fishmonger to de-scale the fish too and he'll really love you for that.
