Freshly brewed Lavazza filter coffee - free refills until 2pm For Only 99p!!!! @ JD Wetherspoon

If you buy a filter coffee at a J D Wetherspoon pub, you can now have as many free refills as you like until 2pm every day. The offer's valid in about 800 pubs nationwide (there are 900+ Wetherspoons in total), the main exceptions being central London pubs and those in airports or train stations.

Prices vary between branches - ranging from 85p to 99p - but a filter coffee would cost more than £1 at most high street chains, so if you know you'll want more than one cup this deal is sure to perk you up.

£1.10 here in my local Wetherspoons. Possibly regional variations in price?

It's quite sweet to see such an ancient deal posted as if it began today.

Was just over a year ago that it started if memory serves correct.

No need to apologise I've never seen an issue with something being reposted after a set time as new users who may not have seen the original are joining all the time! Besides I might happen to work for said company...

More like 11am inn my local wetherspoons!

Surely at a Spoons, the preferred beverage of choice is a pint of whatever ale they have on offer that day accompanied by a large all day breakfast? I thought this was enshrined in our national DNA?

ta jase waiting for the 101st deal! glad to be reminded of this as never remember when I'm in spoons.

So do Ikea. I'd be surprised if Waitrose charge less than a pound, though. Congrats to OP for 100th deal posted.

They have been doing free refills for ages now, different times at different locations.
Just like the prices and portion sizes !!!!

They need to bring the booze down too..:)

You can only have one free cup of coffee from Waitrose per day, or at least you're not supposed to have more than that. Do you have more than one card, if so that's a bit sneaky?

You're not talking about the same products though. In Waitrose you can have a latte, cappuccino or an americano/ for free. In Ikea, if you want free refills you're stuck with filter coffee same as Wetherspoons but £1.10 cheaper.

If you want a cappuccino or latte at Ikea you need to have a family card and pay 40p. You'll be given a token that can only be used once.

Moreover Ikea seem to use a mix of robusta and arabica beans and this is really noticeable in the filter coffee so it can taste a bit different to the pure arabica coffee a lot of people are used to.

I talk / get to know the staff, managers & the likes, familiarity always helps (unless one is a complete ogre) & have never had a problem with staff they are always lovely, busy but helpful, that's what matters to me, & if I have a problem with service / food they would sort it I have no doubt.

..maybe you are simply know far & wide?

Never had cake in the place but everything else has been good value, this deal reminder makes my non-drinking wife happy to rest up when out shopping or wanting down-time.

Thanks OP, you afford me the likelihood of a pint!

It's not free. In fact, despite all that text, you seem to have avoided mentioning the price.

I agree with Gus. I like the staff and usually tip them. Where the service falls down is the unfeasibly long bars and no queueing system. I never know where best to stand and the number of times I am overlooked is unreal.

I have often given up and walked out.

So...if you don't personally know the staff...this merits poor coffee, cake and service??

What are you talking about? You can get a free cup of coffee every day with a my waitrose card. The price is irrelevant as you do not pay anything.

But to be fair, neither of those companies main business is selling drinks. Spoons doesn't lure you in with cheap drinks to get you to buy your weekly groceries or new sofa, the most they can hope for is you try some of their gourmet microwaved meals.

Correct.
There seems to be a misperception since Waitrose's recent-ish 'rule' changes.
AFAIK,a purchase is required only if you're getting a drink at a Waitrose cafe ie.Waitroses which have a cafe inside.
Otherwise it is still free, all you need to do is present them with your Waitrose card.:)

AFIK,still free from checkout
ie.don't get it from the Waitrose cafe,as will require purchase.

Great price and Lavazza is a decent coffee brand. Shame you have to drink it with a load of daytime alcoholics using the place to fill up on cheap booze

filter coffee isnt a deal even if it was totally free

If I ordered a coffee in a pub I would be ostracised by my friends. One bloke I know starts boozing at 0900 and finishes at 2200. His nicknames are avadrink alan and carry on drinking alan. Nutter.

Filter coffee is the best type - just not Lavazza. Try finding a decent coffee shop that does single origin filter coffee. It's much better than drinking a tankard of coffee-flavoured milk with sparklers and mini-brownies on top.
