Seems like a decent deal. Was looking to build my own but have become extremely lazy lately.

And for £1300 with a 1080ti and latest gen intel cpu what is being expected an 8700k?

the 8400 is very good, him saying it's not the greatest was indicative of it being not good imo
I really do need to replace my aged PC, so any advise on what processor etc will get me a 'future proof' machine would be gratefully received. I would probably go to £2000 to include a monitor (not too small ) And hopefully some sort of backup guarantee. I know building one is best but not totally confident at the moment. (could be persuaded ! ) many Thanks.

I didn’t say it wasn’t good. Just the fact that it has, arguably, the greatest GPU for gaming it isn’t the greatest CPU.For the price it’s a quality gaming system.
Gaming benchmarks show the i5 8400 roughly on par with an i7 7700k, pretty good 6 core processor...was thinking either this or the ryzen 1600 for my next build.
Odd to go with a low end i5 with a 1080ti also a low end case which to me doesn't look like £1300 should... But suppose they've gotta save money somewhere to make a profit

I don't think gtx 1080 to will run on a 600w psu. I had a EVGA 650w PSU and my system was not very stable even when not trying to do any overclock.
There is an option for a nice looking sound proofed case for an extra £26, considering the price of a 1080ti at the moment this is a very good price.

Go search for past deals on 1080Ti's they are all around £670.

Heres one currently for £700 novatech.co.uk/pro…tml

Or wait till an Nvidia restock for £670 geforce.co.uk/har…ti/
Not in stock, past deals not relevant.....you wont find a 1080ti in stock for less than £800.
Strange combination - mid range CPU with top end GPU, but reasonable value given current prices.

£670 for brand new 1080ti? In your wet dreams! The nightmare reality price for them, even for basic founders editions is £799 from power computing
Seriously tempted by this one with the silent case option for £1322 but the missus would kill me !

Even if you weren’t cheating with the GPU price £200 isn’t really that excessive. The time sourcing parts if you are building your own and then putting them together isn’t exactly a small time sink even if it all goes perfect (and let’s be honest even if you have built hundreds of computers you will generally run into something that doesn’t go perfectly to plan and takes time to work out and resolve the issue). So it all depends how you value your time

Wow that 1080ti from Novatech at 701 quid... if I buy it will I get it at that price?
Massively tempted...
I was looking to build a gaming PC for my son last year and ended up buying from Freshtech directly for about £40 cheaper than I could source the parts. I chose a preconfigured tower off their site and telephoned them to ask if I could swap out the DVD drives and have a network card instead. This was no problem and the PC was delivered 3 days later. I think the warranty you get is worth it even if your chosen tower is more than the cost of the parts. I feel that building one PC in your life for the experience is enough, after that just buy one as long as the price is good.

No. They don't have any and if they get one in they'll lump £200 or so on top of that price.

PC gamer just means playing games on a PC, you can play games on practically any PC there is (not all games are 3D) doesn't matter if it is shop bought, given for free or found in a skip . Besides a good shop built PC can often be used as the basis for something more personalised or powerful, nothing to say they can't be upgraded, within what the PSU and case allow obviously.

HUKD is about saving money and considering anyone building from scratch will get gouged to hell on RAM and GPU it just doesn't make sense financially anymore, the smart choice is prebuilt or just wait it out with what you have. Of course if you just want to game and nothing else, consoles are the value kings right now...

Novatech is pile of pants. I ordered the msi gtx 1070ti from there for 432 thinking that’s a bargin. Waited and waited and waited...cancelled in the end. They are happy to take orders on stuff they have no idea of getting in or not
Finding it incredible theyd put all that gear into a case that looks awful and is worth about £20, so many options for around the fifty quid mark.
Solid spec but the case is dog shite
2.8ghz is that any good?!!
Boosts up to 3.8 ghz on all cores under load, an unlocked processor will net you a bit more performance but benchmarks are surprisingly close with this processor and the k version.
Added bonus is this runs ok on the stock cooler due to lower temps (rated at 65w).
