One day I will find out what the hell this all means!

Basically he is referencing him in this deal and "kypsolo" should get a notification that he was mentioned in this deal. He is probably just letting him know about this deal. Hope this helps.

I'm pretty sure the 5G version is single sim.
The original Mix 3 has a slower Snapdragon 845 processor in it.

There's still some out there such as here:

It was. OOS now though.

It's been £299 every Wed and Fri on the Xiaomi store for a couple of weeks I think.

Still a great price though.

What do people recommend between this and the mi 9t? Looking to buy from UK for next week and both are around the same price at the moment (9t approx 260 in UK).
Cant find 9t pro for less than 360 in UK which is too much for processor gain IMO

Ebuyer have the older version on their ebay store at £260. Probably a no brainer but is it worth the extra £40 for the 5g and the faster processor?
Are there any xiaomi phones with a qhd screen? 1440p ish? I want one but 1080p fullhd isn't enough for me.
Appreciate any advice thanks

For most people, Facebook Email Internet etc the processor doesn't make a difference as they never max it out anyway. The faster processor is for hardcore gamers using 3 like Pubg.
I'd take the older version as dual sim is the deal breaker for me.
Great camera set up in the Mix 3.

Just bought the Mi 9 for my wife and its a great phone, but I'm brand loyal to Xiaomi, works out about £320:

You'll pay through the nose for QHD without much benefit due to the screen size as the human eye struggles to detect the difference at that pixel level. A higher refresh rate like 90Htz would be more impressive. Neither are worth the jump in price to my mind.
Other users opinions may vary.

Reason I want the extra resolution is for vr. Vr on 1080p is a bit crappy compared to 1600p

As mentioned, QHD is not noticeable. I went from a QHD S9+ to a FHD+ Mix 3 5G and I can't tell the difference.

What I can tell, is the lack of bezels, slightly faster processor on some games, the (in my opinion) better camera setup and the ABSOLUTELY miles better battery life. Oh, and 5G too, which as I'm in London is actually quite established.

Honestly? If you're on any budget QHD shouldn't even be on your list, it's barely needed at the top end.

I'd go for the 5G version of this to futureproof, or pick up a Huawei or similar Xiaomi at sub £300, and stick the other £3-600 you'll save on buying a Western flagship back in your pocket

As also mentioned above, the reason I wanted qhd is for vr, where the difference between 1080 and 1440 is very noticeable.

There's a difference between being on a budget, and wanting to get a good price for a good phone. I recently bought an s10e (qhd screen) but I thought if I can find a better phone I'll give that phone to my wife.

And if you're going to scoff at everyone you deem "on a budget" why are you even on HotUKDeals? The whole site is about getting good prices

I mean, I didn't scoff, I was literally trying to advise as you clearly don't know what phone to buy and I thought I'd throw my sixpence in. Jeez.

You also make the implication that being on a budget means you can't get a good phone. Your use case with VR is super niche, and not what most people look for, hence your choice is limited and expensive.

In relation to VR, you're absolutely right. 1440 makes a big difference. I'd argue that VR is an incomplete technology regardless, and all but our best phones honestly struggle with it. My s9+ had QHD and 6GB RAM and struggled, plus the battery cost made it just not worth it. But whatever floats your boat!

Well good for you my s9+ struggled, heated up very quickly and ultimately it wasn't worth it. A bit of a fad technology in my exp. Is what it is
