Just spotted this on amazon and seem like a cracking price for the complete collection, Packed full of special features and outakes on every disc.

Popular American sitcom Friends first appeared on our screens back in 1994, to little fanfare. The show followed the lives of six twenty-something singles--Monica (Courtney Cox), Rachel (Jennifer Aniston), Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow), Joey (Matt LeBlanc), Ross (David Schwimmer), and Chandler (Matthew Perry)--who occupied a trendy New York loft apartment. These were essentially six beautiful people who had probably never known a hard day's work in their lives, and whose every utterance was a well-crafted witticism. But despite their idealized lifestyles and perfectly coiffed hairdos, there was something annoyingly endearing about them. Viewers could easily relate to their struggles with work, sex, and relationships because these were universal struggles - albeit heightened for comedic effect. From early on it was clear that Friends had successfully tapped into the zeitgeist of its time, and now, 10 series down the line, the show's broad appeal continues to live on in popular culture. This box set contains every episode from season 1 to 10.

Was £40 in ASDA in November/December, plenty in stores

Sex and the city too, same price

THis is a good set as every episode includes scenes that were cut when broadcast and in the older Black box set.

It was £40 in store in hmv last week.
Seems to be the standard price in a lot of places at the moment

they still have it at £40 - well did yesterday lol

£40 Tesco instore as well.

Been £40 in Tesco for a long time.

Why would anyone want to buy this, it is constantly on repeat on TV anyway.

good deal if you dont get channel 4/e4

If you are near an Argos 'Clearance Bargains' store I;m sure I saw it in Corby store for £34.99.

I prefer the original standard edition episodes.

After watching several of the uncut episodes you can see that a lot of the cut scenes were cut for a reason (cus they weren't very funny!)

Got this just before christmas and I love it.
I have all the friends videos, so I was looking to upgrade to DVD and this collection is the best. The extended versions are awesome and add something to episodes that maybe you've seen too many times. The commentary's are pretty good too, very insightful. Right now I'm only halfway through season 2, still loads more hours to go.
Definitely one for fans of the show, and who cares that they are shown on E4 all the time, if you get this you can watch whichever you want, whenever you want, instead of conforming to the TV schedule.

Sure there are more, but here's a couple of reasons to get you started:

There's plenty of added value in this boxset - I decided it was worth £40 for the special features alone, so replaced my old individual boxsets with this one. (they've had a lot of use over the years, anyway). Only watched a couple of the extras so far, but very interesting so far.

e4 etc tend to show episodes more or less at random - and some of the storylines in friends are better watched sequentially.

DVDs you can take on holiday with you (maybe camping?) where you can't be guaranteed to get a TV signal.

DVDs are normally a better quality image and sound than you get on e4.

You can watch DVDs without a TV licence.

^

Also you don't get adverts every 5 minutes. And E4 watermarks

Not sure why this is so hot, the deals been going on for over 2 months and at multiple retailers?

This has been in Asda for £39.71 for quite a while now.

Actually E4 just run the entire series in a loop and in order, they put 2 'new' episodes on per day which are then repeated 2 or 3 times each per day.

Still a good deal for fans though.
