It's been £20 or £25 before.

Yes - from memory eighteen months ago!

hav to vote cold.
1.dvd
2. 25 sounds better

Cue the it was £20 last Christmas comments...

bought at morrison's last xmas for £20

Definitely a good deal if you're in the market for this right now, but give it til xmas and it will be £20 again

They're on the Comedy Central channel every day without fail; and in HD.

I used to have the boxset years ago when DVD was thriving, but it's a dying format nowadays.

Can anyone confirm this one is widescreen? I have been told the white box 15th anniversary is. I've even been sent pictures of the DVD playing on a TV and in widescreen.

comparing to the newly released bluray version, this is nothing desirable anymore.
guys, invest 50 quid more and get the proper widescreen 1080p version.

cant go wrong with friends!

It's been £80-£100 for a complete set too.

High Five for pointless posts!!!1

Yes but apparently the bluray version is cut, whereas the DVD is unedited.

Friends is epic but after seeing it in HD you can't go back!

33!! its a rip off!!
bluray version should be around that price at xmass or thereabout

I've heard rumours about some versions being tacky quality, and not containing some scenes, i.e. certain jokes that may have been cut from certain airings, so not the full US versions as it were. Anyone confirm this or help me out here? Don't want to pay money for not the 'full set' as it were

Bluray is currently around £80, I dont think its likely that tihs is going to reduce in price by £50 in the space of 7 months.

people moaning about it being £20, I guess you can wait 6-7 months or so until the next christmas sale
those who cant, this is a good deal
especially as this is the uncut version
personally, I'm waiting for the uncut blurays

Is the blu-ray version going to be worth it? These were filmed pre-blu-ray era so I don't think there would be a substantial difference in quality...

@hanif248
if you have comedy central hd, compare the quality of that to the standard version

The bluray version are not the uncut episodes. Whereas the dvd versions are. So hot for me.

True, I see it was only £20 in December 2010 so cold for anyone with a suitably customised DeLorean.

I have this. I must have seen every episode on TV/VHS at least 10-20 times. Got this set and there's at least 30 seconds each episode of stuff that makes you go "wow, that's new". I love it, I'm just gutted these were cut for us in the UK. I watched the 'PIVOT!!!' episode just last night and there's new PIVOT action I never knew about!

I think I got it for around £30-35 as it happens which is a bargain anyway.

Cut a long story short, heat.

Who cares? Not like it's going to stop working.

I think the DVD ones are the full uncut ones with extra scenes we've never seen before, including one at the airport when monica and chandler are going away.

£20 at morrisons just before christmas, and it will be again no doubt. Anyone who was/is DESPERATE for the friends boxset must already own it by now! Wait until this is £20 again. Nearly £35 for a dvd boxset these days seems silly.

The key word there is filmed. If something (TV show, movie) was shot on film (Well, at least 16mm film) then it will benefit a transfer to Blu-Ray, as many old movies show.

British TV shows from the 80s and 90s would make no sense on BR because they're pretty much all shot with standard video tape but something shot on film can benefit because 16mm+ film has a much higher quality than standard def digital video.

always enjoyed watching it..

friends is pu-tang COLD COLD COLD = freezing

Been trying to get this the last few months on ebay, keeps going for stupid prices, I wont pay more than £20 for DVD primary boxsets anymore (Like Xena, Charmed, Buffy etc)

Best I ever saw was £23.50 at Play.com like 2 months back but that was a one off.

Come on people, let the bunnie get DVD content cheap so I have stuff to watch while you all move to blu ray or whatever the next format will be LOL

Voted cold until it drops...

I remember buying all these years ago from play.com for hundreds of pounds as a christmas present for my girlfriend. She is now my wife and still has not watched them all. Need to start buying using my head and not my heart!

What on earth does that mean? Kids and their slang these days.....

I bought the set when it was on one of the cheap Xmas deals, and still haven't watched a single episode.....
Loved it when it was on TV, but just can't bring myself to watch it now.
