When I stayed at one in Leeds a few months back it sounded like the woman in the room above us was in a lot of pain . She wasnt half doing some screaming. Not sure what was wrong with her .

That's what it said on email. I copy and pasted it right from the email to the HUKD description.
Looks like a good deal. Will try and book later

The village matress's have the same effect on me. They're comfyyyyyyyy
Worked for some dates but for others but stupid as normal rate was cheaper
Just be warned their rooms are tiny and if you have kids forget, you'll need another room

Thanks. These seem like Travelodge rooms only with slightly more up to date decor. I was looking to take the kids and these work out a little dearer.

I've booked for work purposes and confirmation email says breakfast for 2 included.
There's a Village Hotels Paris too by the way. It's located in Glasgow.

They are a lot smaller but the beds, tv, fittings are far better plus there’s a gym and pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, gym classes, WiFi, parking, bar. Other than that they are the same lolololol
The Portsmouth rooms are so tiny you can’t swing a cat in there. Whoever designed the bed room should never be able to fit out a hotel again, nowhere to put anything, forget taking a case. Bathroom is separated by glass that you can frost, so people can’t see though....except it doesn’t cover the door, hahahahaha. The pool layout is also weird as changing rooms are up two flights of stairs from the pool, wtf.
Beds in Portsmouth hotel are dead comfy though.

Pool/gym would swing it for me. AFAIK no a single Travelodge provide these.
Doesn’t say brekko? Defo included??
How come Portsmouth is more expensive than everwhere else and is higher than their standard rate

Has their policy changed ?
The £5 spa surcharge was only ever applicable if you had booked a room through a 3rd party.

i have always booked direct with Village and never paid once to access spa/pool facilities

Maybe that's why Leeds was very expensive for a few nights I looked not paying over £200 for a night!

How long ago was it that you booked? The free spa/gym access was removed about two years ago, although might apply to specific deals.

Believe me, I've stayed at too many of these hotels. Frankly I think they're a bit over-rated, especialyl given where a lot of them get located.

Last time I stayed at one of their chains was July in Blackpool.
That was booked on last years festive period sale for 2 nights for £60 and didnt have to pay any surcharge to use indoor/outdoor pool etc

Actually their T&C’s still state what i thought having just searched:

Health & Fitness Club Facilities

For hotel guests that have booked directly for selected rooms, access to the health & fitness facilities are included in the rate. A per room charge of £5 for entry to the health & fitness club will apply to standard room bookings & 3rd party bookings.

Well there's a surprise. Only whenever I've booked a room since 2017 there has been no mention of free use of the spa/gym facilities and on site I've been asked to cough up a few times.

It does say selected rooms though so perhaps it doesn't apply to sale rooms which are just the standard bookings they refer to above.

If it makes you feel better, the Portsmouth one was £650 a night one the weekend before the students started first day of term. Its £85 a night most of the autumn and winter.
