Now if I had any leave left I'd be on this deal straight away. Belfast and visiting some of the Game of Thrones filming locations! I love the idea of this with Belfast being one of my top recommendations for a city break too. I'm sure many of the HUKD folk from Northern Ireland can add in any extra places worth visiting too from their beautiful part of the world. This is a pretty jam packed itinerary and I know you could spend much longer than this amount of time but this gives you a good basis for what you can see and do. I've picked all ensuite accommodation that comes highly rated.

20-22nd April
After arriving in Belfast early morning you'll drive to your city centre hotel, the Etap for 2 nights. The Titanic museum and dock is well worth a visit along with many of Belfast's pubs and city centre attractions. If you wanted to head to 'Winterfell' then Castle Ward is just an hour away where you can grab a cuddle of the 'Direwolf' puppies Odin and Thor.

22-23rd April
You'll drive from Belfast towards the coast and stop off as often as you like en route, couple of places worth mentioning are Cairncastle where Ned Stark beheaded a Night’s Watch deserter and also known as Moat Cailin. Newtownabbey and Carrickfergus are well worth a visit as well as the cliff walk 'The Gobbins'. You'll head to Cushendall for an overnight stay at the Glenn Eireann in Cushendall.

23-24th April
Driving the route from Cushendall to Ballycastle there are many attractions. You have the Glencliff Forrest Park and some GOT locations, the Cushenden Caves where Lady Melisandre gave birth to the black shadow. There are also the 'dark hedges' (road to Kings Landing) and the beautiful Murlough Bay where Theon first met his sister. You could also take the short ferry over to Rathlin. You'll overnight in Ballintoy aka the Iron Islands nr Ballycastle. I've picked a 'hostel' called Steel Island but this is very highly rated and rooms have ensuite. As the name suggests you are surrounded by, well, sheep!

24-25th April
You'll drive from Ballycastle to Portrush today. Take a walk over the very high and nerve racking Carrick-a- Leeds rope bridge. No trip to Northern Ireland would be complete without a visit to the Giants Causeway and if it takes your fancy Bushmills! You'll overnight in Portrush at the Portrush Holiday Hostel but it has great reviews and rooms are ensuite.

25th April
You'll drive from Portrush to Derry for your flight home but as your flight isn't until later in the day you should have time for a quick explore of Downhill Strand with its seven-mile stretch of golden sands and Mussenden Temple. Drop car back at Derry.

I know there are plenty of tours but generally I think they are quite expensive for being ferried around places with just a few minutes at each. This way you can spend as much or as little time at each attraction without lots of people!

Just a wee correction..."Carrick A Rede" rope bridge....;)..well worth a visit even though the " health and safety" brigade have made it user friendly lol but yes " Norn Iron" is well worth a visit and can be covered in a short spell .

Haha that will be my predictive text had to giggle at the suggestion Carrick a Leeds, that's a new one!!

If you don't fancy the rope bridge, but at the same place, there's a frequently used filming location called Larrybane. Great views and you will recognise it for sure. Last time I was there the car parking was free if you didn't park in the bit for the rope bridge.

Based on 2 adults.

A nice wee place to call to is Whitehead, great craft shops/cafes and a lovely walk along shore from Whitehead to Blackhead Lighthouse!

Parking at the rope bridge is free, you pay to cross the bridge only, if you don't want to cross it, you can park and walk to it for free. Ballintoy harbour is 20 min walk from the rope bridge, also used in GOT

How could you recommend Whitehead and not mention The Gobbins?

I quite agree, however they had some damage to footpaths in a recent bad storm and The Gobbins have been closed - not sure when they re-open!
