From London: August 2018 School Holiday Norweigan Fjordlands Cruise, cabin for 4 £349.75pp/£1399 @ Iglu Cruise

This looks a great alternative to your normal school holiday deals, a Norweigan cruise. Great prices if you don't mind booking in advance. I've done a Norweigan cruise with this line and although basic, Norway is beautiful and the best way to see it is on a cruise as it is so, so expensive. Given that you get all your food and we found some drink was included, eg on captain's cocktail nights and tea/coffee was available it's probably one of the more reasonable priced cruises. By comparison, a 7 night Princess cruise around the same period will set you back over £2k!

The cruise departs from London Tilbury.

It still shows up for me, even searching a cabin of 4 for 4 adults is £1540 and it will let me book that online so cabins for 4 are definitely available. Give Iglu a ring.

I'd say compared with Princess they are more basic but the ship itself was previously a P&O ship infact the ship itself doesn't appear til June 2017 for Cruise and Maritime so it will be a pretty new ship as they are refurbishing it.details here

Columbus Overview

Due for launch on June 8, 2017, Cruise & Maritime Voyage's newest vessel was formerly owned by P&O Cruises Australia under the name Pacific Pearl.

Beginning its career as Sitmar Fair Majesty in 1987, the ship became Star Princess in 1989 when it was christened by Hollywood Actress Audrey Hepburn. The ship was then acquired by P&O Cruises and sailed as the line's old Arcadia and then the original Ocean Village before being acquired by P&O Australia and named Pacific Pearl.

Columbus weighs in at 63,786grt and will be the largest in the CMV fleet in terms of passenger numbers.

It has already undergone extensive refurbishment, with one significant change the introduction of 150 single cabins, reducing the ship's capacity from 1,800 passengers to around 1,400. Columbus also boasts sixty-four deluxe balcony cabins, and 75 percent of its 775 cabins offer an ocean view.

The ship will have another refresh before June, which will include the addition of a range of new and improved facilities aimed at the adults-only British market, including:

The conversion of the HQ Teen Center into the maritime themed Columbus Lounge & Library
The conversion of the Shark Shack & Turtle Cove Children's Center into the Trumps & Aces bridge and card room, plus the separate Crafter's Studio
British-themed Taverners Pub & Casino
Other features include the Dome Observatory, the wellbeing center with fully equipped gym, two heated swimming pools and a large outdoor movie screen. The three-deck central atrium also provides ample retail opportunities for shopping fans.

Entertainment options abound, and guests have a choice of eight lounge bars, two deck bars and six entertainment venues, plus a retractable stage for ballroom dancing. There are also five dining establishments, including three fine dining options and two coffee shops.

Columbus will be based before in Tilbury, East London, for 2017 and, in 2018, it will embark on a world cruise.

Anything for 2A and 2C (11 and 12) from 22 Jul 17 for 7 nights?!

Up to £2.5k budget, can fly from E Mids, Man, Bir and all London airports.

Last year did Melia Dunas, Cape Verde, but cannot justify those prices again this year - £4k for 7 nights!

That is the start of the school holidays and the prices are so expensive that weekend, August sees flight prices drop a little. I've posted a few deals for August. If I see anything decent I'll post but it's your flight prices and date.

I actually didn't realise myself either! Great if people want to book in advance and I think you can just do a deposit too.

Don't bother no good for kids!

Just booked for 2018 - thank you for this. Would never have seen this deal - £1069 for the two of us on 24 August 2018. Thank you once again
