If you fancy a nice bit of Italy then this week long stay gives you a nice balance. You'll spend 3 nights in Verona which is a lovely city. I'd highly recommended the Verona card if you intend to visit alot of attractions. You'll stay at the B&B Hotel Verona which is on the outskirts around 4km from the city but you will have a hire car from the airport so you don't need to worry as parking is free at the accommodation.

On your final night in Verona, what better way to end it than a visit to the opera! Carmen is playing on 24th June and I've included the cost of tickets (note if you are under 30 you can get these cheaper).

On 25th June you'll drive to Lake Garda. You can vary your itinerary a little but I've based you at the Hotel Rosmari for the whole stay. This place has great reviews too and it's also free parking and nr the shores of Lake Garda for boat transportation.

Breakdown

Flights book at Ryanair £83.96

B&B Hotel Verona £90 book at Amoma

Book opera tickets €50 for two (£45.44) book at netticket.it

Hotel Rosmari in Garda £183.40 book at Venere

Car Hire £67.39 book at Skyscanner

Total £470.19/£235.09pp

great price.. Heat added
Recommend not staying 4km from the city in Verona.
Many Italian 'tourist' cities have their museum cards (Firenze card/ Venezia Unica/Roma Pass). None are worth buying IMHO unless you are really pushed for time and must skip the queue - you won't get value by visiting 16 museums in 48 hours but it may be worthwhile for those who loathe standing in line.
Other than that its all good.

I used the Verona card and found it great value as we visited almost everything on the card, good if you like art, churches etc. It all depends on your interests to be honest but research what you intend to do. With the opera Verona will be very busy and you will pay a premium for city centre hotels and may struggle with parking. We have been a couple of times once in the centre and another time just outside and used the bus to get to and from the centre, easy enough.
I've recently got back from Rome from one of your deals Rachel and it was amazing. Just wanted to say thanks as we had the time of our lives.

Thank you so glad you had a nice trip, always good to know!
Verona is one of my favorite Italian cities and the opera is amazing.

Some tips for the opera I wish I'd known, take a bottle of water its hot when you arrive( don't drink it all as toilets are limited like a music festival), rent at least 2 pillows on your way up pp and take a jacket / cardigan it will be god under your legs at the start and then it gets chilly, so you may want to put it on.
