Wow! This looks amazing. How do you fancy a March holiday to the Maldives!! On 14th March you'll fly from London to the Maldives with Oman Air. There is a short stop over but nothing that will inconvenience your trip too much. Note that to my knowledge Oman Air is a dry airline so if that bothers you then this is one to avoid. Edit: Apparently it isn't and they do serve complimentary alcohol!

You'll arrive into Male on 15th March and will take a speedboat transfer of an hour to your hotel. I've got a cracking place to stay. It is Thoddoo Cottage that has won many a TripAdvisor award and you will stay here for 7 nights in a half board basis. I've picked this place as not only is it great value for money but it is a few minutes to the beach and this place is also rated highly with consistent TripAdvisor and other verified ratings. You aren't staying in a fancy 5* resort but a small island with locals and you can also island hop. There are a few cafes about on the island so you can also eat and drink locally in between your half board meals. The ferry to Male is only 3 times a week.

On 22nd you'll take the speedboat transfers back to Male where you will stay a final night as you have an early morning flight on 23rd.

I've seen many a Maldives deal but these tend to always be on B&B basis and as eating and drinking can get expensive it may be handy to have at least breakfast and evening meal included. For cheaper options you can look at breakfast only which would reduce the cost even more.

Breakdown

£728.62 Return flights from London to Maldives book @ Travel Up (or Expedia for a little more)

Good price and nice find OP, but if you are looking for the real Maldives what tv portraits it to be this is not the best resort to go to. HB is good value, but drink prices can be expensive even on non 5* resorts as they have to import the alcohol, and you cannot take alcohol into the Maldives even duty free.

To get the beach bungalows and the butler, no this isn't it but it is a good value HB break with 5* reviews.
Add £3,000 for food and drink and it's not such a good deal!

it is a good deal, no denying that.

I went to the Maldives for my 30th birthday, and it was amazing. would love to go back. but if your going to go the Maldives, do it properly. go all inclusive and chill out, not having worry about how much its going to cost while you are there. that's what the Maldives is all about. my twin centre 2 week all inclusive cost £3000 for 2 adults. 1 week on lily beach with sea plane transfers, 1 week on meeru with speed boat transfers. spent £100 over the all inclusive with doing a couple of excursions. and coming from Scotland, we took full advantage of the fortnight of free booze. this was a while ago now, thinking about going back for my 40th next year, and keep an eye on prices. you can still find a similar priced holiday now. when I was out there, they were talking about how the Maldives might not be there in 10yrs, due to sea level rising etc. but still there, will return one day.

big fan of your deals btw, keep up the good work

Gotta agree we went last year and it's a place you don't do cheap.

We went to Niyama for a week and jumeirah dhevanfushi for a week, it's heaven on earth if you choose the right resort

if you're looking for the "real" Maldives, try staying a week in Male
I guess it's weighing up how much food and drink you can consume in a week and if this is worth it. Personally AI for a week wouldn't pay for me I couldn't consume enough food to pay for it or alcohol. I did look at AI options and it was a minimum of £1100 and this was called something like Equator Village and wasn't a small atoll like the deal above it was on an atoll with an airport and an hour flight from Male and didn't look as appealing at all. I guess it's weighing up whether you need AI or not and if you do paying a few hundred pounds extra pp for it.

For anyone interested the details of this cottage can be found here and as previously mentioned this is not a resort but a small family business. The reviews of the island itself suggest you can get meals at many of the restaurants for $4ish so not expensive at all.
