I love Bali and think it's a great country to visit. This trip includes visiting Singapore, Bali (Kuta, Ubud, Gili Air and Lombok) before spending two nights in Kuala Lumpur.

The Gili islands is a great place to relax and Lombok is definitely worth visiting and if you are feeling adventurous hiking Rinjani is well worth doing, it can be a tough hike but we'll worth it. I did it in rainy season, fortunately no rain hiking up but we had thunder and lightning as we hiked up it for sunrise which was very memorable! This can be done as a side trip from Lombok.

Trip price is based on 2 people and all accommodation has private bathrooms and is rated highly. Transfers are additional cost but there are so many cheap options with buses and taxis you won't be stuck.

You can get rooms so cheap in Bali, Singapore and KUL and hostels are a few pounds. I've picked here private ensuite rooms all rated highly but you can get cheaper accommodation with some sacrifices such as dorms and shared bathrooms.

In Bali you'll spend 4 nights at the Dara Dara which is in Kuta. You'll be close to Legian and Seminyak I'd strongly recommend hiring a driver/taxi if you want to explore, though I found hiring a cycle was good as you could easily get about. Book accommodation on ebookers.com £20

13-17 April

25 April

2904984.jpg
TOTAL £1137.12/£568.56pp

Discount Code on Ebookers AFFVCCOUK02 and note you will fly from and to different London airports so you will need to ensure you have public transport/taxi etc sorted. I've flown from different London airports before using public transport in between and I'm not a Londoner so if you live that way it's probably far easier!

Air Asia and Norweigan charge for luggage so I'd suggest hand luggage only. I did when I went to Bali and it's much easier as taking luggage on the boat etc can be a bit of a pain. That said you may end up bringing back lots of cheap Bali clothes and shoes too

It was mine too, I did it one Christmas but spent longer in Bali and visited more places. Gili Air and Meno are stunning and Lombok is far less touristy than the mainland.

Great work, well done.
Great itinerary, really done a hell of a trip there

Might have to save up for a last minute trip in the next year or so. I'm guessing that's how you can get such good prices?
Brilliant post , Did Bali and Lombok few years ago , perfect place to take the Mrs!

I would 100% do this if we hadn't had a bloody kid!

Thanks for posting and all your effort this is great info 😁
Use uber whilst in Bali. It's ridiculously cheap
Bali is not a country it's an Island within Indonesia.

Another point, hostels are certainly not a few pounds in SG or KL.

A day trip from KL to Penang is not advised either unless you fly.

I should have said Indonesia as a country, including Jakarta, Bali, etc . . .

I found hostels for sub £9 in both Singapore and KL and with the discount code it would reduce them further. Some of those were specified male rooms or capsule types but yes they do exist.

Fab place to take kids. We did it when ours were one or two. Very easy to get reasonable childcare and get some meals out as a couple again.

Love your posts Rachael but I'd question your suggestion of Kuta, very overdeveloped. Loads of other great choices though

It's easy to adjust and stay elsewhere, as a base it's orovably a good choice for a first timer and limited time but you could choose other areas around the South such as Seminyak, Nusa Dua, Sanur, Legian, and Canggu all close by but these are all quite overdeveloped. Less touristy I'd head to North Bali, e.g Lovina, and Singaraja - black sand beaches. Actually even East Bali would be a good choice for Amed and Candidasa, etc.

Arrr Monaco I remember you booking this, it looks like you had an amazing time.
Any solo travellers wanna do this and need a partner? I’m 27 in London if you wanna Meet, I’m probably booooking tonight. Any tips from anyone regarding these tickets?

@qazim are you an animal lover? If so, I know a place you can meet some lovely people. Check out Villa Kitty on Facebook or their website. Please if you, or anyone heading to Bali can go and cuddle some cats and kittens for a few hours out of their holiday they would be very grateful of your time and I'm sure they would appreciate your company.

Also, please think about popping into the Odd Cat Cafe (also on Facebook) that supports Villa Kitty.

If you hate cats or animals, probably not for you.
No offense and I am certainly no animal hater, but more than 160,000 people in Bali live in poverty and in Lombok the number is close to a million. If you are going to spare some time for cuddling then how about visiting an orphanage with some unwanted clothes or toys and cuddling some children whose parents died from not having access to medical care.

Of course, you could do both.

Just a thought.

I have mixed views on visiting orphanages for reasons highlighted here however I did leave a lot of clothes and donated toothpaste/toothbrushes which are in demand (local schools).

Of course you can do both though, when it comes to charities everyone has personal preferences in organisations they want to support etc.
Does anyone know any good Easter sunshine breaks leaving from London please?
