It's that time of year when everyone is talking about Game of Thrones so what better time to plan a GoT trip visiting some of the main locations. This is an 8 night trip visiting Iceland, Belfast and Croatia in October.
First off, flying to Iceland. You ready need to drive in Iceland to make the most of your trip, so I've included hire car costs. I'd suggest heading straight towards the Golden Circle and 'North of the Wall', see where Ned behedded the deserter and also in Thingvellir National Parm is where you can view the pass to 'the Eyrie' You will stay for two nights at tripadvisor.co.uk/Hot…tml which is in the Selfoss area and includes breakfast.
If you don't mind driving a little further, head to Myvatn and find the cave where Jon did that thing to Ygritte! For those that like some city sightseeing I'd recommend spending your final day in the city before returning to the airport.
You'll fly to Belfast. I've allowed 3 nights in Belfast and car hire too. There is so much to see and do in Belfast. Explore 'Castle Black', the 'Iron islands', the cave where Melissandre fave birth to the dark spirit and also the Stormlands. You also must include a visit to the Giants Causeway and nearby rope bridge. Also stop to take in the Dark Hedges visible in many GoT episodes, like when Arya escapes from Kings Landing. Resting from Got make sure you do pay a visit to the Titanic museum and the pumphouse which is interesting too.
You'll stay for 3 nights at tripadvisor.co.uk/Hot…tml which is a good place to stay for accessing the city and has free parking. You also get breakfast included.
You fly to Split in Croatia (it's far cheaper than Dubrovnik) and make your own way into the city which can be done using public transport or taxi. A short stay in Split also gives you a chance to see the Basement of Diocletian’s Palace where Khaleesi kept her dragons and had her throne. You'll spend 1 night in Split at tripadvisor.co.uk/Hot…tml
After your short stay in Split you make your way from Split to Dubrovnik on the bus (included in the price below) where you will spend 2 nights. Home to Kings Landing, Blackwater Bay, the gold cloaks and the shaming of the 'mad queen Cersei' (as I've named her)! You'll have plenty of time to explore before your flight home on 17th. There a few different flights but I've picked the later one, although more expensive it gives you a final full day in Croatia.
