Here is a road trip to America - incorporating Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon, Page (Arizona), Monument Valley (Utah) and Sedona (Arizona). The good thing about this trip is as flights are from Dublin to Las Vegas, it is so easy to connect up and you could easily add a pre-trip stay or post-trip stay in Dublin too. I've included return price flights to Dublin too with luggage and this is based on flying from Manchester, but it is similar price from almost any UK airport to Dublin.

20/09-22/09
Fly from UK to Dublin (as mentioned you could go the previous day if you wanted a night in Dublin, etc). For this trip example, you fly straight to Dublin, get your luggage and recheck in for your flight to Vegas. You land in Vegas in the evening and make your way to the Excalibur where you will stay for 2 nights. Don't worry if you don't get to do everything you want, you'll be returning to Vegas later in the trip.

22/09-24/09
You will pick up your hire car this morning at Treasure Island and drive to the Grand Canyon area via Hoover Dam. You have ample time to take in the sights around the Grand Canyon area and will spend 2 nights in the Grand Canyon at tripadvisor.co.uk/Hot…tml

24/09-28/09
Heading east out of the park, you'll head towards Page in Arizona. There is so much to do around this area, visit Lake Powell, the Antelope Canyon or take a trip on the Colorado River. Horseshoe bend also looks amazing. You'll spend 4 nights in the Marble Canyon Lodge, which although basic accommodation, the location looks absolutely stunning. It's a little further out of Page, but significantly cheaper by around £200

28/09-30/09
Head to Monument Valley (Utah) today where you can recreate your favorite western film with the towering sandstone buttes in the distance. There is a 17 mile drive around the area you can do, and I've allowed 2 nights for you to truly take in the amazing sights of this area. The accommodation looks epic too, a tipi in the middle of Monument Valley, which also has amazing reviews tripadvisor.co.uk/Hot…tml

30/09-02/10
You'll head back to Arizona today and spend 2 nights in Sedona where there is some gorgeous scenery and hiking in the Red Rock State Park and the canyon. You'll spend 2 nights at the Beaver Creek Inn.

02/10-04/10
It's a 4 and half hour drive back to Las Vegas and you need to have the hire car back at Treasure Island (I've used 4pm as a guide time for return costs). You'll then have 2 nights in Vegas back at the Excalibur before leaving on 4/10 for your flight back to Dublin and then to your regional airport.

Sorry yes that was per person. Thanks!

Just booked flights and car hire for Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona and Utah last week, so found your accommodation links useful, thanks! Think we'll give the tipis in monument valley a go

It looks lovely I really fancy the tipis myself. If I hadn't booked Jordan for October I quite fancy this trip. Might look at it for next year as I can't take any leave in September

Although you have to book the tipis direct use the link and the Ebookers code for the others for the discount as it's much better than the prices on Expedia, hotels.com

I checked all the reviews and they were all good too. I guess it all depends on budget though....

Thanks! I'll look at the other hotels now. We've been to the Grand Canyon before but think we'll nip back as it seems a shame not to, and the prices you've found seem good for such a hot spot! If you do look at it for next year let me know and I'll tell you my highlights when I'm back

I wouldn't recommend staying in Williams, when you can stay in Tusayan.
Which is just a few miles from the park gates. Instead of diving 60 miles from Williams to GC.

I'm sorry but I just don't understand how you put these trips together. To begin with it's over 20 hours from leaving Birmingham to get to Vegas and that's if the flights are on time. I haven't even included the time beforehand of getting to Birmingham airport, a great start to the trip, OR the time getting through customs and then on to the hotel, let's call it 24 hours although I'm being generous.
Then you stay in Williams for Grand Canyon which is a minimum of a good hour to get anywhere near the South Rim, which is what people think of as the Grand Canyon.
As for staying 40 miles from Page for 4 nights to visit Page's attractions is just plain crazy, especially as the only road to get there can be washed away in flash floods and then what do you do ? And why have you decided to spend FOUR nights there ? Utter madness. We all loved Page but four nights, nowhere near it ? And leaving Vegas at 06.45 for another 24+ hour return trip, you're having a laugh.
With respect, and I know you're trying to help people, but if you haven't actually done these trips yourself may I suggest that you refrain from posting them because they are poorly put together and appear to be just sticking pins in a map.
This is not well thought out and not what I'd expect from a 'travel expert'.
Sorry if I sound harsh but this is not a trip I would recommend to anyone and neither should you.

Pretty good DIY package. Use Uber/Lyft for the transfer from Excalibur to Treasure Island - honestly they are a game changer for Vegas. Just came back from there and used a code for $5 off each ride up to 10 rides. Ended up $2 each way to go a few miles down the strip in the evening and $10 return to Walmart which was about 5 miles out.

The only thing I'd say is consider a later return from Dublin to BHX because just over 2 hours to collect luggage, change terminals, check in and do security might be pushing it a bit.

There are so many Dublin flight times you can easily change for a later time or even the next day if you wanted to stay in Dublin too.

A Great trip - did something similar last year.
