I realise this won't appeal to most and I'm ready for lots of comments on safety, terrorism etc, but my interest was triggered by speaking to a woman who had a promotional stand at Manchester Pride who was promoting Tel Aviv and Israel and it looks amazing. I'm off to Jordan in a few weeks and Israel is on my radar for next near, as well as Russia.
I'm sure people are going to mention safety, but unless you have intentions of heading towards Gaza or the Syrian Border(!) you should just exercise caution, like you would in London or any other European city.

Please help fight apartheid and do NOT go to occupied Palestine until they are rid of these zionist colonialist mass murderers.
Children are kidnapped from their homes in the middle of the night by the idf cowards and houses are demolished.
Terrorism from the israeli government yes.
Be ethical and go somewhere that doesnt treat the local population (inclusive of Jews and Christians as animals). BOYCOTT!
Just trying to work out how good a deal this is compared to normal prices.
I've been watching the flight prices from Manchester and these dates flagged up cheap. The hotels/B&Bs also work with the discount code so it looks a good deal to me.
Understood, but not sure that politics should impact ones decision on how hot or cold a deal is.
How do you accomplish that?
Me and the wife went to Israel in 2001 and would love to go back, you are seriously tempting me
I agree, the British Government should stop selling weapons to these countries.
What examples have you found?
A barcode starting with "729" indicates that this product is produced in Israël
I had to vote cold just to make it fair/balance on other holiday destinations.
- Food is amazing
- Both cities are brilliant
- loads of culture
- Fantastic beach (TA)
- Visit old Jaffa, beautiful place.
Bad points
- It's crazy expensive!
- Expect very long security checks, interviews and several screenings.
Other than that, I'd say go and see. It's interesting what you see here in the media versus when you get there and speak to people.

Add israel and the idf to that list
Who'd want to go on a holiday to Saudi?
Aid , grants and loans never to be repaid given to Israel, and Palestinians cannot even get charity delivered to them via land or sea!.
Israel has swimming pools by stealing water and Palestinians have barely enough to drink.
Where is the humanity.
The media machine spins heavily, tons of manufactured reports to purport Israel as some victim and Palestine as an agressors to garner sympathy.
Can't support people who don't value human life.
Kindness and humanity surely must be above all other human values.
wonderful people and wonderful place
people made me feel welcome and overall i felt safe
everyone spoke perfect english which is always a bonus
will be going back again
I am not gonna attend to the claims on the legality of Israel since i am not a lawyer specializing in international law.
I do want to address the claims made here on the issue of security screening.
Security screening does take a bit longer than most countries, but do keep in mind that this is only in the airport, so its not as if Israel is some kind of a police state where you have blockades on the roads with random checks.
BTW, Israeli army evacuated the gaza strip in 2005, the blockade only started in 2007 because hammas was shooting missiles out of Gaza.
Cost of living is very high here, thats true
Interesting, I have gay friends in Tel Aviv who we met in Vietnam, I've had quite a bit of contact with them since Manchester Pride and this isn't something that's been mentioned or I was familiar with.
As far as middle-eastern countries go, I believe Jordan and Petra are very gay friendly countries when you look at their laws and attitudes to same sex relationships, compared with say Tasmania which, when I visited were quite hostile towards homosexuality which was made legal late 1990s! Will be interesting to see how my visit to Jordan goes, will certainly report back.
Maybe I will when the palestinian authority stops giving blood money to terrorist`s families if their spawn kills innocent Israeli`s.
By not going to terrorist countries like those.
Apartheid-hahahaha.Occupied palestine-hahahaha.
I was interrogated for over 20 minutes because my passport showed I had spent a few days in Malaysia & Thailand - they demanded the names of everyone I’d met in M/T along with everywhere I had stayed in Israel. Just a really unpleasant place to visit.
Just curious, did a Palestinian run your cat over or something?
No,i worked for around 6 years in Israel and hate seeing it demonised by internet warriors.Vast majority of Israeli`s just want to live their life in peace without the threat of missiles landing in their back yard.
Far safer going to Israel than many other so called tourist countries.
Interogated for 20 minutes-hahaha,drama queen. You mean you were asked some questions about visits to previous countries.Try going to Indonesia/Malaysia with an Israeli stamp in your passport and see how long you are "interrogated"for.
Your hostility towards other people's opinions is interesting to say the least.
Could it be that other people's experiences are different from yours and that you need to accommodate their views rather than posting angry and rude comments?
Your constantly poking your nose into other peoples posts is also interesting. Why don`t you let them answer if they are offended.Hostility works 2 ways,What I have experienced in Israel is that if you have an attitude problem with security they will give attitude right back at you. This ain`t the EU where snowflakes are so easily offended, this is country surrounded by basket case countries intent on wiping them out.
Snowflakes?
Oh no, not another Trump / Daily Mail / Right Wing Brexiteer.
Welcome to my ignore list.
Might have known.Took the cowards way out.Ignore list-hahahaha.Typical leftie/corbyn nazi remoaner.
