Are you planning ahead for romance? I was asked to look for New York for Valentines day next year for a friend who is getting married there on Valentines Day and I've put together a similar deal for a Valentines break for 2017. Are you planning to propose or a romantic stay, well this is ideal as the hotels are amazing!!! You can amend your dates for beginning of Feb or end of Feb for slightly cheaper but I've done this specifically to include Valentines day. Check other flights and hotels to include these dates and you will struggle to find cheaper. If you have no desire to go on three particular dates then cheaper can be found.

You'll fly first to Dublin from Manchester on 9th February, prices include luggage and a great hotel, the Best Western on O'Connell St which is right in the heart of Dublin and for a bargain price of under £40 a night. You have a full day in Dublin.

On 10th February you'll fly to New York and stay for 6 nights in the highly rated 4* Shelburne NYC Hotel, right in the heart of Manhattan. Walking distance to most attractions and did I mention a complimentary glass of wine on the rooftop bar between 5-6pm every night and free bike rental too. This hotel looks amazing and the rooftop area looks stunning! According to the hotel website rooms have microwave, fridge etc so you can also cook some basic food but who does that in NY!

On 16th February you'll leave New York heading back to Manchester.

Breakdown:

Manchester to Dublin Flights £89.98 book @ Ryanair

Best Western Dublin £39.39 book @ Venere.com

Long Haul Flights €485.90/£381.77pp book @ American Airlines

6 nights in New York £675.09 book @ Venere.com (you may be able to get an additional 15% off using the app but I've run out of storage space on my phone to download it)!

Total £1568.59/£784.29pp

Flying from Manchester to New York?

Why not make it an even happier trip and just book a one way ticket

Nicely done.

What a romantic lot you are

Would like to know what insurance you could get to offset being dumped.... more importantly would it be cash or kind

Heat added as it will be very cold at that time of year in New York

Seeing as so many of you are worried about being dumped before Valentines next year there is always this idea.

Most Valentines days are unless you're somewhere hot

Just bin there Valentine's Day 2016 and it was the coldest day in 100 years - 15 c but there after it was ok (2 days later it was + 13 c !!!! ) you obviously take your chances with the weather but wrap up well and not a problem on a plus point you don't have to queue for attractions .... I would definitely go this time of year again but got 5 days in Newyork with BA airways booking whole package flight and hotel, and transfer to and from airport cheaper than above quote and only booked Nov 15 in a fab hotel central Manhattan 4 star larger than normal room plus mini kitchen microwave , fridge , coffee machine and dishwasher !! Fab !

Some British Airways packages here

I did look here but if you're specifically after Valentine's Day the ones I tried when I clicked the prices went up to over £800 for 6 nights but you may find something.

Great work again. Have some
Keep up the good work.

I booked it back in Nov 2015 but think there was a sale just look out for the sales on British airways I paid about £2326 for 2 adults and 2 kids staying at the Manhattan club suites in a junior exec room 20th floor excellent location and having the mini kitchen was very useful for breakfast that was for 5 nights Ncl - Heathrow - Jfk and price also included transfers both ways once there. All booked thro BA !! To be fair looked at other hotels more expensive but didn't intend to spend much time in the room and we didn't space is a premium in NY and the dimensions of the room was great with a half wall separating our bed from the kids

Adding two children onto a deal will generally make it cheaper per person overall. You can get similar properties for this price for 2A and 2C.

Kinda annoying that the UK gov charges silly amount of tax & there is an easy way around it by starting your long haul in another country - therefore only paying short haul taxes.
So you end up flying Manchester to Dublin to Heathrow to NYC
Still... don't think £780 is a good price though - especially out of season.

Yeah Dublin is always good for departures to America, saves a fair few £. Even comparing with Norwegian, which by time you add checked luggage which I'd strongly recommend for Ny, they generally end up still being good value. You can get cheaper beginning/end Feb as I said in the original post, but to include Valentines specifically this is a good deal. If you aren't particular fussed on going at this time of year I'd look for other offers.

Good price for the hotel, however it doesnt look like its available anymore.

Flights wise you can usually fly virgin for that price.

hopefully the best western Dublin is finished by then - its a building site atm

Thanks. It's just the type of room I'm looking for.My brothers getting married and it's our 25th wedding anniversary. We're looking after brothers 2 kids for first 5 days and they're picky eaters so having mini kitchenette would be great.

so its a good deal because of valentine day? pffff
You will prob be able to do it just as cheap if not cheaper when Virgin & BA run their seat sale & fly direct.
£780 for NY flights £40 for dublin hotel (& transport between hotel / airport both ways which is not mentioned), £90 for Ryanair flight. = £910
Currently fly direct in a non sale ticket with virgin for £960
Norweigian Air for £870

Yep as I said in the listing it's a deal specifically for those looking to be in NY on Valentines day. A couple of weeks earlier or later and you can get direct flights from Manchester with Virgin sub £400. At the moment you're looking at about £460 for flights with KLM or Finnair from Manchester. It also depends whether including Dublin is a bother to you or not.

Waiting for sale prices can pay off as you say, depending on what dates you want exactly. Either way the hotel is now not available at the price I posted so the deal needs expiring.

Currently £445 direct to JFK from MAN with AA on 10/02 for 6 nights if you don't want to mess around with indirect and Dublin.
