So I know I posted an Orlando deal, but I wanted to shout out about these very cheap BA/American Airlines flights sub £300 in the school holidays - amazingly cheap!

I know that a lot of people want Orlando holidays this time of year and I know it seems odd to drive from Miami to Orlando, but Orlando flights are so so expensive. Even if you factor in a hotel at the airport for around £50-70 for the night, including breakfast, the savings are massive.

Here is a couple of screen shots. If you are wanting to go from Manchester there is a short stop each way and based on a family of 4, the price averages out at £287.30pp -example dates 17-29 August.

There are some slightly cheaper options with Lufthansa/Austrian Airlines around £10pp cheaper.

For those in London, you can make this an open jaw which means you can leave from Manchester but return to Heathrow. Ideal if you have BA miles to fly cheaply from Heathrow to Manchester or can do the one way journey with public transport etc.

To do this you need to book a multi-stop flight:

Flight 1 Manchester to Miami
Flight 2 Miami to LHR
Flight 3 LHR to Manchester

The flight 3 you make at least 24 hours or longer after arriving into London. You will get your bags back and then exit. You don't need to take the final leg, but never ever tell the airline you have no intentions of flying this leg. Once you've exited at Heathrow and got your luggage, job done, unless you really do want to fly back to Manchester in a couple of days time.

Based on a family of 4 averages out at £286.06pp.

This leaves on 19th August and returns into LHR on 29th August. The flight from LHR to Manchester is the next day which you are unlikely to take.

Really good prices been looking at these most of the morning, the only slight issue thou was they require you to pay upfront the entire cost when you book, what with flights, seat bookings which are extra, accommodation and car hire that took me to over £3000 for five which is a great price, but not something I can really afford upfront at the moment

I've never paid for seat selection with BA, just done it when online check in opens. I think the part of the flight with AA you may be able to select your seat in advance.

You don't have no, but if you want to guarantee seats together when you fly ( which I would ) prices are coming up as £18 each way to/from Manchester and £25 each way to/from Miami. But entirely optional take your chances 24 hours before if you prefer. Just wouldn't be for me. No argument on the prices thou still brilliant value whatever. Just having to pay the lump sum up front is my issuse , even f I could not sure I would almost a year in advance. Again my personal preference and I'm not knocking your deal in anyway. It's great value.

Oh I see, that adds a fair bit onto the price. If you have Avios going spare you may be able to upgrade.

would think you can just buy the flights now ....then log in in 6 months and pay for seats together?
We looked at Miami in the past, but remember to factor in fuel to Orlando, lost holiday hours and also more expensive car hire, also all car hire in Orlando is zero excess fully inclusive insurance, this is not the case in Miami.

Yes this is cheap but not for Orlando in my opinion.

You have to be careful and book on a site that knows you are in this country or you could end up with no insurance at all but any good site will offer you the full package just don’t use US sites like Priceline as they assume you are US with your own insurance.

I'm sorry but the part re: Car Hire being more expensive is NOT TRUE. Using Alamo Brits code with CDW and Zero Excess 14 days hire is $385 (286 Pounds) from either Airport.

Yes - Obviously, the extra mileage will likely cost you $40 each way. But Factor it in with a few stop overs on route and you're quids in.

Technically It isn't. It depends where / who you rent it from and what insurance options you choose on the day. As with ANY car hire policy, anywhere.

If you're looking for full cover and a great price anywhere in Florida, This link for car hire will normally be the cheapest of all vendors with total cover and FREE extra drivers.

Also, you can look for cheap car hire and then use a company to cover the excess such as insurance4carhire.com or similar. I've never driven in the USA so I'm sure other people may have some good advice too such as imskeen.
I'd never use AA again. Worst service from any airline I've ever used.
BA fly drives are fully inclusive on the insurance front, and you only have to pay a deposit until 6wks before departure
