This is a great price, well done OP!

I bought my supply for my cats yesterday @£17/6pk. Arrggh :(. Will stock up for my dog though.

"Was £30.25"!! It's always around £17/£19 everywhere else so they are having a laugh with that.

voted hot for price... though this stuff didn't touch my kittens mutant fleas!

I found frontline stopped working on my dogs last year, Capstar tablets work at the moment tho and are cheaper than frontline.8)

Frontline everytime for my dogs. Heat added.

i buy the large dog stuff for our four cats. 3x 4ml pipettes for £15 contains the same number of applications as four of these cat packs- £60!

the dog stuff is actually 3% weaker than the cats on one of the main ingredients. the other main ingredient is the same concentration.

Great price voted hot

ps DMH.....2 BLT's please

this worries me in case it goes wrong, some people are very scatty. I googled it and am still a bit edgy about the idea. But will think about it some more. I've got 5 cats but 4 are ferals and we can't get near them. Would need a blow dart or something?

The only frontline worth getting is the combo this one stopped working on my cat until the vet told me about combo five years later not one flea !!!!

its ok , been doing this for years , half a ml per head , get the largest dog one avalible and decant into a small sealable container and get a 1ml syringe for 2 cats ,

the cat one is out of stock now

Bad advice

It may be ok in this case, but people may apply the same advice to other products.

I know someone who killed her 2 cats by accidentally using their dog's equivalent product on them.

Just saying, that some people are not as savvy about these things.

yup, exactly what i did yesterday you can get 10x 1ml syringes on ebay for a couple of quid.

i read loads about this before going ahead. lots of people saying its not a good idea to use dog treatment for cats, and in most cases they are correct as most dog treatments contain a chemical that could do alot of harm to a cat, but frontline doesn't use said chemical.

I think you make a point in a roundabout sort of why. I could have put a disclaimer in my post, but at what point do you stop babysitting? Products contain a warning on them saying don't use on cats, that should be plenty enough!
I don't think it's bad advice, or advice at all- should I not share my experience in case people aren't savvy enough?

it's not babysitting at all (ok lets not turn this into some "we live in a nanny state" argument ) I merely want to emphasise why there are usually warnings on these products.

You offered unqualified advice that people may take lightly, without knowing the possible consequences. As chalkysoil says, the ingredients may change. Or indeed people may think the same applies to other brands etc.

Stakes are high in this example aren't they? you could end up with dead pet's if its not considered correctly.

I think we've delivered the pros and cons now though.

I forgot to actually say, great price btw!

I picked 4 ticks off our cat this very weekend! creepy little beggars....

only ever had one tick, but it was fun twisting it off. not so great for the cat though. and yes, horrible little buggers. big orange head with loads of wiggly legs. urgh.

When did you qualify as a vet? Oh you haven't......well maybe you should follow instructions like the rest of us.

haven't heard that expression since I was a kid

could try sommat like this in addition to the frontline-

flea trap:
apparently it works wonders. loads of vids demo'ing it on youtube too

Updated the OP. Also instore and valid all this month

it was way over priced to start with. I use advocate seems to do the trick

isn't that just as expensive?

kpmatthews is right - frontline dog and cat are the same product - Fipronil, and the dog is safe to use on cats. A cat pipette contains 0.5ml, the dog pipettes contain more of the drug... that is the only difference.
And before anyone asks when I qualified... 2005 ;-)

Thanks for the tip. The ex-large dog one is around the same vol as the two we normally buy for our small-med and med-large dogs. Nearly halves the cost per ml

As to the deal, it is only a couple of quid cheaper than the usual haunts I buy from, but it is still the cheapest I can currently find so popped an order on.

or go for 6 x 40 - 60 kg from amazon for £24,79 as the co - op does not sell them
amazon.co.uk/Fro…1-7

advocat is prescription only

i've used a generic frontline called fiprospot - seems to work just as well. i have read some fleas are resistant to frontline now and people recommend advocate (expensive as you need a prescription) or advantage, but i hear advantage can cause skin irritations...what a minefield

Actually, they sell them for £19.49 + £2.49 postage. Considerably more.

Good price, cheaper than medic animal who are usually the best around

Will check my stores for the cat 1s.is it larger stores only?

no worries, two is better than none and the search is crazy even on a pc

The half price bit is a joke, but it's a good price. Pity I bought a 6 pack a couple of months ago!

cheers op - ordered. Note that the Cat 6pk is currently back in stock. (been in and out of stock at least twice now)
