Bit of a specialist item this so I don't expect heat but it will help someone who has been in this situation or fallen foul of a callout charge from a boiler engineer.
I wish I had known about this years ago back when the weather was -25 and I had to cut the pipe and stick it in a bucket every couple of days, since then I have over insulated the pipe outside but the weather has never dropped low enough to freeze it again.

It will save you having to mop up a spill removing the condensate to stick it in a bucket to drain while the weather is bad, it will also get your boiler running again in seconds rather than pratting about trying to get the internal pipe into a bucket without splashing acidic water around.

Even if you can't fit it yourself you can have it ready should you have to call a boiler engineer and get him to fit it next time they have to come out (or at the annual service for a tenner cash in hand)

Yes I know it should drain internally to prevent this before it is posted but we didn't all have them fitted in a location to allow this, the people who owned my house before me didn't.

Remember the water is acidic, take precautions and realistically this should be fitted by a professional as this is your gas central heating!

Can be ordered online and collected from store, it will probably be in the day before your folding bolt cutters arrive!

This looks good. Always having issues with this at old house. Luckily it was a push fitting onto boiler so easy to remove with bucket at ready underneath.

Same here after the 1st time it happened but I figure £6 to reduce the chance of any acidic spills works for me
Just what I need as my condensate trap gets blocked from time to time
Stock in Bradford and few more in the area
Or pour a kettle of boiling water to defrost it. Not a Gas Safe issue to fit and condensate has a similar acidity to lemon juice.

Unless you had a 20 foot pipe above a conservatory.

    Tried kettle, hair dryer, everything.

if you have an issue with that length of pipe should just get it lagged as that solves period and once done forget about it.

I don't anymore as it was old house. And never had an issue after I realise the outlet just pulled out under boiler. 2 second job rather than trying to get above conservatory to lag it.

Doubt it would have helped anyway as it was a corner house exposed on a hill.

Yes, that would be a problem. All you can do is upsize the pipe to 32 or 40mm and lag it as well. Ugly but it should work.

well 20ft exceeds the 3m recommended external run for a condense pipe and will be more prone to problems.
