You’re welcome. There’s a lot of great apps going free on iOS and Play Store at the moment. Just need to find the time to use them.

I hadn't noticed that. A very quick go-ogle search seems to suggest there is a 30 day free trial for GamesClub, after which it's £5 a month to play any game in their catalogue.

With reference to your point @sicmay it says:

"you might feel a bit miffed at having to pay a subscription for something you’ve already bought.

Rejoice, then, on hearing you don’t have to. If you purchased a GameClub title in the distant past, you can download it to your iPhone or iPad, and use it for free, forever. Given that you’ll be getting the shiny new updated version, that seems very generous.
"

So you're fine, with what they suggest will be improved resolution artwork, and support for new devices.

This is an awesome game! One of the best games I've ever played. A bit like Xcom, but a much simpler weapons system and a deeper focus on strategy.

That sucks. Not quite the bargain I thought then. When I searched it said it was previously a paid app.

Sorry guys. Feel free to vote cold.
Frozen Synapse. That's a bugger when you get that, brain freeze.

Votes hot for your honesty
This would have been an incredible freebie, but it’s only available as part of a subscription and isn’t really a deal at all. Should be expired really. Shame.

Haha. Cheers. I'll do better next time!
I'm expiring this deal. Cheeky of them to make it seem free when it's just moved to a subscription model.
