13 varieties of fruit trees in Aldi from thursday. I bought some of these last year and they have grown well so will be buying a few more this week.Last years were 5ft tall and really healthy and are usually 15-25 pounds elsewhere.

Thanks, just the type I'm looking for. Are they on dwarf rootstock to keep them smaller?

Cant remember tbh. Think so,not expecting a large tree and leader had been pruned out.

Has anybody tried one of the apple trees from Aldi (last year)? Just wondering as I bought one on-line from another supplier - a rootstock one a couple of years old but it never seemed to grow (leaves not getting larger and no fruit - do have quite a few other apple trees in several neighbours' gardens). Still in the ground, but don't know whether to pull it up and try again with one of these apple trees from Aldi or leave it to see if anything further happens this year. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I`d just buy a new one. Some trees just dont get going. I bought a few nashi trees from T&M that just survived then died off (20 quid) got refunded. Start afresh and if you get there early there should be a good choice.

Must try to get to Aldi this week they look good

Maybe a daft question, not a gardener, but could I grow one of these in a large pot on my patio as I don't have a garden? If so, which variety. Thanks

Thank you, for the advice, will take another look at the tree before I pull it up, just to make sure that it is definitely 'dead'. Just wondering, how old are these trees from Aldi and will I get any fruit this year if planted early enough (thinking about getting an apple tree)? Thank you.

I think i read they are 2 years olds and might start producing first small crop next year as 3year olds if they have a good year (sun food water). Thats what Im hoping for this year and if u live in the warmer south you should see better growth.Have a look on youtube for planting tips, some good vids there..

The one I got from Aldi last year gave fruit the same year I planted it. Mind you it was only one small apple. Not bad considering a late frost took out the blossom on a lot of fruit trees last year.

Are they the apple trees that don't grow very tall (only wanted a small one in my garden)? Thank you.

Just picked up some vic plums.A bit battered looking but a very good choice of varieties. The conference pear`s are really big thick plants well branched absolute bargain these.

No Cherry trees in our local

anyone seen any nectarines?

Do these varieties need pollinators? I've looked online and it suggests they do. Has anyone had them fruit without other varieties to pollinate? Thanks.

Exeter Alphington Rd greengages and plums, no nectarines

Selly Oak Birmingham have tonnes of these outside the front. Bought 11 (already got 6 from last year).

Today they had cherries, apples, peaches, greengages, plums, apricots, pears..

A good few (at least two) varieties of each..

Grab a bargain as these will be snapped up very soon and be out of stock by March...

Got two apple trees, thanks.

Aldi rocks!
