lol! the 4870's arent that much of a power hog (at least i hope not). i've got a corsair tx650 and i was lucky enough to recieve the 4870 from scan, so im hoping they dont drain too much power! this PSU is more towards the overkill / 3 way xfire/sli guys

Seems like a really good price, anyone know if its noisy or not?

scan can kiss my bum after the 4870 flop =[

I fail to see the need for a KW, My computer has five hard drives, beefy graphics card, two HD satteliite cards, xonar d2x as well as many other things, when measured on full wack it wasn't half that. Devices are much more efficient than they used to be..

+1 Would love to know the specs of anyone who actually needs this much power...

Most people that buy these probably just think they need it!

Is this PSU as good quality as say a corsair or a coolmaster? Anyone know

All tests but one went smoothly, did not burn anything so it still could be a good PSU, not 1kW, though (unless it was just a bad unit)

i know this is powerfull, but is this better than my corsair 750w modular, in terms of quality?

I bet it's just about as powerful as your PSU in real terms..

I was told never to scrimp and scrape with a power supply, which is why I wouldn't have this. It's a decent deal but 1kw is overkill for most machines these days (I have ATI 5870, i7 2.8 and 600w is more than enough)

anybody running OC'd GTX 480/580 SLI and a core i7 highly OC'd would be very smart to go for 1KW! the 480/580's take around 250-300 watt EACH!
