Ready for Brexit

Ready how with 5 litres of petrol?

Boris Johnson's backup plan to prevent parliament sessions? 5 litres of petrol and a box of matches?

Exactly. I have a 10 litre one. I guess that must be "super large". 1x 10 litres is ment to be the largest you can fill at the petrol station. Or 2x 5 litre. My Tescos enforce that, but Morrisons don't seem to care what you fill, and I've seen someone filling up a massive barrel on their back seat through the wound down window. Legends. 5 litres isn't large.
Good price. I paid £5 years ago. Rare to see these below £5 on hotUKdeals......usually as stock clearance on forecourts.

Wait, what is it? You get a 5l and the box for £3.49. That's a good deal, unless the fuel can is empty

I've filled two 20 L jerry cans in Tesco and nobody cared.

Awesome. I'd do it too if I could be that cheaky. It was when they had a 10p off a litre deal few years ago. Some jobsworth from the forecourt came out to the pump, they must have seen my 3x 5 litre cans in the boot and the one in my hand and told me I could only fill up two. Maybe that was just too much of a p!$$+@k3.

Wow, I never knew of any restrictions of filling containers. I frequently fill a jerry can 20L and four 5L containers when they have the 10p off promo at Sainsburys.

Plenty of internet chatter on the subject (example). I have no idea where one might actually find the law written down, but I trust BBC researchers to have probably done their homework. That said, it sounds as though a few people get told, but most forecourt workers couldn't care less. Time I tried filling up some barrels methinks.

Interesting link friar. I'm just discrete when I fill, I had believed the rules for petrol were more more stringent. The only time I had a comment was in Norway where I was told that only metal containers were permitted - after I'd filled my plastic container. On the Scottish islands where the service stations have a red diesel pump, plenty of people are filling at least two 20L plastic containers for their..err...tractors.
