Fujifilm is pleased to announce the launch of a new A series camera - the FinePix A900, featuring Fujifilm's acclaimed Super CCD HR sensor and RP Processor.

Fujifilm's A series cameras are easy to operate, using an intuitive button layout and straightforward access menus. They are a great investment for families who want a reliable, affordable take-anywhere camera that everyone can use, enabling impressive photos to be captured with minimum fuss

9.0 megapixels
Real Photo Technology (RPT)
Intelligent Flash
Large 2.5" LCD screen
Sensitivity up to ISO 800
10Mb internal memory
Selectable scene positions

Super CCD sensor - Super images
This model houses the 9.0 megapixel Super CCD HR sensor, bringing you Real Photo Technology, which is the reason why images of such high quality and clarity can be achieved. A sensor of this size means that pictures will be rich in detail and colour, and will enable excellent prints to be made at 8" by 10" or even bigger.

Blur free results
Because the A900 is fitted with a Super CCD sensor, it is able to boost sensitivity to a maximum ISO 800, and lets you freeze fast action with surprising ease.

Perfect shots - in a flash
The A900 has been fitted with Fuji's latest Intelligent Flash Technology, which reads a scene in milliseconds and cleverly balances foreground and background light to give beautifully exposed, balanced shots without the ugly, harsh, overexposed face shots so common with other cameras.

Super fast Infrared
The new lightning-fast Infrared means you can send pictures from camera to camera, or to IR portable printers or Kiosks in retail stores. It's easy, effortless and very convenient

Movies too
The Finepix A900 can be used to record movie clips as well as still pictures. Up to nearly an hour of QVGA recording can be made on a 2GB card at 30 frames per sec

I'm afraid I am most unimpressed with the A series so far..The ones I have seen in the shops have impressive specs...4x optical zoom etc... but look and feel REALLY plasticy and cheap plus I'm pretty sure this model is AA batteries...
I was tempted to go for the F480 instead as it had similar specs but metal casing for only £10 more as well as rechargable lithium:

On a positive note, I've owned a Fuji F401 for the last 4 years and have been SO impressed with them as a camera manufacturer. Superb picture quality, no mechanical or software problems at all, ever. Its still as good as new despite being taken to a lot of places. I also really like the user interface Fuji uses.
