Excellent price thanks Ray...

You will be hard pushed to find a 9MP camera at this price. I bought one of these from amazon about 4 months ago for £180 and im well chuffed with it.

Superb camera and well worthy of its 5 star rating. I would say if your buying one make sure to get some good rechargeable batteries and a nice big xd memory card.

So for 9 MP camera with rechargeable batteries (under £4 at amazon) and a 1 gig memory card (under £20 at amazon) deal will cost you less than £200.

Have seen this Camera on a few online shops for £163-£167 including delivery. Also seems to be in quite a few clearance and end of line sections. 9MP is just mad though!

excellent spot rayman thanks

I got one of these a few weeks ago - I asked for the next day delivery but it didn't turn up for two days so I got the delivery cost back :-)

Make sure you get a superfast xd-card as well (166x write speed) otherwise it takes longer for the camera to store each photo you take... I think I got mine from bigpockets.co.uk

Sure it's a good camera, but who needs 9mp ? I guarantee that my Canon 6mp has better pixels than this and takes just as good a picture, and I can't really see the point of my 6mp either. It's the quality, not the quantity.
The fact it's in cleareanc sales would also suggest it's about to be upgraded.

Funnily enough you don't mention which camera you have? I bet you it hasn't got a better picture - how pixelated do your clouds-in-a-blue-sky shots look? This camera is the best for those type of shots (compact range) You have to get an SLR to find better...

You're probably right about price drops, no one can be certain of January Sales either though... Decisions eh?

:-D

I think up to 6 mega pix is fine (as mentioned on the gadget show) anything above that you dont really need at the moment unless your planning on making giant sized posters.
I always look for a around about 6 mpix camera with a good optical zoom, the better the optical zoom the clearer and better picture it is for the user on the lcd screen.

Altho the bigger the optical the bigger the camera gets, you cant really win lol
i have seen a cool camera in argos which id love to have and its this baby:
WOW !!! id love this

6 megapixel (which is all you need) and 10 optical zoom plus its compact unlike the big beefy camera with big optical.
Its the Kodak V610

I understand your points above about pixels v image quality, but 10mp will allow you to achieve a lot of cropping without pixalation of your printed image. Whether the optical quality is up to the cropping is another matter of course..... :geek:
