Very good find ! Great Pics !

I was looking at this model back in November & if memory serves me correctly this offer is now a good bit cheaper than the cheapest supplier then.

Bought this camera for my daughter's christmas - ace camera. Good price

Very good price for a camera that's a step up from your average digital and the 5% still works

Can anyomne use this 'RAC' discount? If yes, how? Thanks

Also, is Quidco only 0.5% ?

Ordered one, managed to use an RAC code and quidco as well.
We'll see how much it costs in the end....

Would've been bit better off going for the slr on tesco posted few days back still a hot deal though!

I bought this camera for my wife several months ago. It is fantastic - she's very picky and loves it.
One owrd of advice - it takes 4xAA batteries, so it's advisable to get rechargebles.

Bought this camera for nearly £200 about a year ago. It's very good and not as heavy as previous Fujis. It's a good buy espcially with codes.

Excellent camera, I use it to take action shots of my lad playing junior football. The continous shot mode is excellent.

I have the S1000fd, 12x Zoom and 10mp, they are a very good camera.

Got this for my upcoming holiday. Looks good

Cheers edi:thumbsup:

its is very nice price for an excellent specifications. heat added!

correct me if I'm wrong, but we might be liable to pay VAT and import duty on stuff bought from play?

So even with just VAT camerabox would be cheaper, then you also have the courier clearance fees...

Great Camera the Fuji S-series, I do photography as a living and this was one of my first step up cameras about 4 years ago, Fuji although not great in the professional range still do some superb Digital cameras and this is just a superb bit of kit.

I would recommend it to anyone looking to step up from a compact camera and not wanting to spend to much, plus its got old faithful automatic mode incase anyone isn't to technical minded.

No you dont:)

A very good camera for the price. Bought it in June 08 took 350 photo's at a wedding and was extremely pleased with the results. In fact the bride said she wished she had saved the money on the profesional photographer

Used it for the next 4 weeks with brilliant results again, however it suffered from a common fault,(don't know if it has been fixed yet) the mode dial breaks off and there are forums full of owners with the same issue all over the world. Some have had 2 or more replaced.

I took mine back to Tesco for a full refund and ordered the Panasonic FZ18 an equally good camera with good reviews.

This was such a shame because it put me off exchanging it for the same camera as I wasn't prepared for it to happen again at a vital moment.

Don't let this put you off it's just my experience as I'm sure there are thousands of owners that have had no issues with the dial and are entirely happy with the camera

Is there an extended warranty option on this if bought from Play, or a something available direct with Fuji (or a 3rd party)

You can get the extended warranty directly from ]Fuji Shop - £29.50, £44.50 and £59.50 for 2, 3 and four years respectively - this includes accidental damage - it's more of a bargain on their ]refurbished camera deals (when they have stock) as it uplifts the 6 month warranty for the same price

If you are more interested in video capabilities than super zoom then the refurbished s2000hd and £154.75 delivered looks a good buy.

As I'm a bit of a novice, could you, Wombat, or anyone else, elaborate on this, please?
Thanks

Some newer compact cameras can also take HD video. (although this is generally nowhere as good as the video on a dedicated video camera).

The s2000hd can take HD video at 1280x720 resolution (which is also widescreen) with mono sound - you can zoom the camera lens while recording.

The s8000fd can take video at 640x480 resolution (4:3 format) with mono sound - you can't zoom the lens while recording.

The s8000fd has an 18x optical zoom while the s2000hd has 15x - the s2000hd is usually over £200 new).

Thank you. R added.

You're welcome.
I personally have an s8000fd which I bought for under £110 as a Fuji refurb; considering the price I'm very pleased and would recommend the camera - I don't have real experience of any similar cameras to compare it against though.
