IN STORE and ONLINE.

Bought the pink version of this camera, in store, as a birthday pressie for my daughter. I was going to buy the same camera from Amazon, for £84.94. The reviews seem pretty good and she is really pleased with it.

From Site:

The AX280 is an ideal first time digital camera, with easy to use controls and an intuitive graphical user interface. You won't be overwhelmed by lots of controls and fancy features, but you'll have everything you need to take quality photos.

The combination of a 14 megapixel resolution and precision Fujinon 5x zoom means that everything from holiday landscapes to dramatic close-ups have breathtaking detail and clarity. The 28mm wide-angle is also great for expansive vistas or group shots where you want to fit more in the frame.

Digital image stabilisation increases the camera's shutter speed and sensitivity to reduce blur caused by camera shake and subject movement, to give you clear and crisp photos every time.

Can't decide whether flash is required? Choose Natural Light and With Flash, press the shutter button and automatically capture the same scene twice: once with high sensitivity and natural light, and the second time with Intelligent Flash. Later choose one or keep both!

You can do big things with this little camera. Able to capture both photos and movies (720p) in HD format, the FinePix AX280 lets you enjoy the impact of full-screen HDTV. Please note that an optional HD Player HDP-L1 is required to view photos and movies on HDTVs (sold separately).

Box contains 2 x AA Alkaline Batteries, hand strap, USB cable, CD Rom software, owner's manual.

Same price at John Lewis

bought a couple of these low end fujifilm for friends that want something cheap and you definitely get what you pay for.. theyre not so great in low light, very pixely. anything over 6mp for a camera like this is useless. and batteries are a pain, rechargeable packs - much more economic/ last longer.

I got one of these for my wife a few months ago, it was about this price in Tesco's then, not expensive so doesn't matter if it gets damaged etc. Pictures are pretty good in daylight. It's not great in low light, but I've seen worse. It's a 12mp camera, but dropping the resolution down to 11mp makes a noticeable difference in quality without sacrificing any great level of detail. Movie mode is good but the HD setting is quite jerky, frame rate not fast enough if anything is moving quickly. Takes AA batteries which have lasted surprisingly well, we're still on our second set having taken around 400 shots in varying conditions and a few movies, plus the time for people to review the shots on the screen. I was expecting to have to replace them after around 100 shots.

I guess that anything you buy at this price point will be a compromise. If you want a cheap camera for casual use then this one is ok and better than some at a similar price, I'd say.
