Nice find! Heat added
Thanks! I bought myself one like this but it's a Samsung one, and i must say, they are fantastic little things to carry around!
Sainsbury is the seller.

Good price, good camera.

Little thing to carry around Hayleigh? Not really, this is virtually a full size dslr.

Nice one OP but please remember to add the retailer to the title. Think you forgot in all the excitement of posting 4 deals in your first hour of membership! LOL X)
Hahaha! Sorry buys! there has been so many deals i have wanted to post for a few weeks now and I havn't had the time to get round to it!

This camera is quite compact if you consider the more bulkier and much more pricier Nikon D3100 OR D5100!

I enjoy carrying mine around, whereas my friend has one of the more bulkier ones and finds it quite annoying to take around.

Seems the "street" price is £89.99 so a tenner saved, not quite the bargain the title suggests. Still a good find, hard to believe what you can buy for so little money.
How much is this camera 5 years ago?
I have no idea, sorry.
Nice deal, well spotted
What different between bridge camera and DSR?

A bridge camera bridges the gap between a point and shoot compact camera and a larger dslr camera
what are the batteries like in something like this? i was always under the impression that AA dont last long and better to get them square flat things like in mobile phones? wouldnt mind this though...

Dammit, where is my Grays Photography Almanac 1985 - 2008 when I need it.
No lithium battery?
Fujifilm website has a swre update to improve functionality, fujifilm.eu/uk/…80/?sword_list[]=s2980&no_cache=1

Bridge cameras don't have interchangeable lenses, just the zoom lens that's built-in.
Well my Bridge camera takes AA batteries and they're great if you buy rechargeable ones! It's good to have a battery powered camera because you can always take spare batteries, but with other camera's you would have to charge it. I love my battery powered camera
can anyone please tell me what the name of the software fuji uses to transfer the photos to pc?

a 16gb SDHC can be picked up new for a fiver so not a huge saving buying a refurb s2980, probably better to stick with a new one
Save £70?

What's with these marketing gimmicks do you work for FujiFilm?

This is £10 more on Amazon and has been that way for ages.

The "save £70" will be based on RRP... and it's still a tenner cheaper than Amazon...
i bought the Samsung WB100 on the homebase deal.

I was unsure about buying a bridge camera but for the price i thought i would give it a go. The zoom function on these type of cameras are great for the price

save your money, as a photographer you'd be better getting a Panasonic Lumix DMCFS40EBK.

Was looking to buy one on these at tesco last week for £89 but out of stock at my local and price today has gone up to £99 so £79 seems a great deal, cant wait for mine to be delivered.
Anyone interested in some serious zooming should check out the Canon SX50. The moon shots are incredible. Someone even videoed the moons of Jupiter, its on Youtube.

lol it can't do that .. ive got the camera ... only way thats even possible is by hookign the camera up into a telescope .. you get soem serious zoom then
The zoom lens motor on these cameras are very poor. Had mine for 2 months before the motor jammed/stuck. Now on 3rd replacement because the second also suffered similar fault. The fault are apparently very common on these cameras, there are a lot of these cameras reconditioned on Fuji website due to customer returns. It takes good pictures but sometimes it struggles to focus resulted in blurred pictures. Take extended warranty if you buy this camera.
lol .. i can make that up inside mins ... wheres the stars ?

I also bought the Samsung ...I find it takes really good, quick and easy snaps for me.
I wouldn't claim it will take professional quality photo's, for that you will need a serious quality camera
with a quality lens...and serious money to buy it!!
Gutted I missed out on the Samsung Homebase deal - but this deal is very tempting also... How do the 2 compare? Is there any alternatives around the same price?
