I was looking for Fujifilm S9600 camera but this was released after S9600 and can produce RAW format images
Although this camera is 6.3MP only but it shares lens and many other features with S9600
Excelent bridge camera

Could you post an outdoor photo under sunshine? It can tell the difference

Looks great! Probably a really stupid question, as I guess it would have been posted if so, Is there anyone selling this camera online for around this price?!

I have a S9600 and it can also produce RAW Images but I never use that feature, it is an excellent camera for anyone wanting to get a little bit more serious about photography, I am still learning how to use it though.

This is effectively a EVF camera, not a dSLR. A few cravats, it has a fixed lens at 28 to 300mm, which is quite good but the f-stop only goes as low as F2.8, which isn't ideal for low lighting conditions where you don't want to use a flash.

For those wanting to get into semi-professional photography, i'd go for a dSLR which supports interchangeable lenses. If you want a more fancy and oversized point and shoot, this is for you. At £80 it seems like a steal.

Can anyone with the camera confirm if you can use the LCD screen for framing to preview what you are shooting (live view) or just the viewfinder.

I am looking for a camera with decent manual controls & lens for use in animation and it needs to have live preview to allow me to see what I'm shooting using my animation software.

You can use either the LCD or the electronic viewfinder to frame the picture.

The cheapest xd cards i can find are on morgan computers £19.96 for a 2gb card or £4.68 for a 256mb card wich for a 6.3mp camera should hold about 100 pictures so i'd buy 4 of these and use them for diffrent occasions !!

If your camera supports RAW then your foolish not to use it what with the price of large 16Gb CF these days!! The advantages of shooting in RAW are very significant imho!!!!

You can swtich between them both. At £80 this is a great price. Just about to replace my 5700 for a DSLR as we have the old Canon lenses for the film SLR but really enjoyed the 5700

Anyone had any luck getting this anywhere other than the OPs location? Is an awesome deal and would love to find one in Cardiff

Sounds a fantastic deal but ... can anybody get hold of one ?

I've just tried a dozen stores across the North-West of England without any joy. Out of desparation, even tried the Wembley store where this deal was purchased and they are also out of stock

None in fareham. Looks like old stock. OP got lucky. Nice one

Had one of these for 18 months now. Produces great pictures. I paid £149 in Jessops. Raw images are good but just be aware a lot of software programs won't edit Fujis Raw files. The full resultion JPG files are good enough for most people. The video results are also good and you can zoom using the large lens during videoing unlike many of your small pocket cameras.

I've been looking at the Fuji S5800 which is 8 mp and has a 10x optical zoom. This is currently selling for £99 so wouldn't it be worth spending the extra £19?

if u need to ask, Id probably say the answer is no ,,,,,,,,,

Shame this doesn't seem to be readily availble. I have also been looking at the Fuji 5800 as a cheap step up from my Sony dsc p10 (which cost about three times more 5 years ago). The Panasonic fz18 gets fantastic reviews but is more expensive so I was thinking about it's predecessor the Panasonic fz8 which is 7.2 megapixel not 8.1, 12x zoom not 18x and lacks the intelligent auto feature but is otherwise similar. My main priority is having good image stabilisation and avoiding grainy, out of focus pictures.
