Generally helpful to put the retailer and price in the title.

That's a good price. The 18-55 is a very nice lens, miles better than many 'kit' lenses and that alone sells in the region of £225-250ish secondhand. The XE-1 seems to keep many people happy for general photography so long as you aren't doing any fast action stuff.

Great looking decent camera and good lens for a great price, what's to hate...heat,

is this much of an upgrade from the X-A1?

gone for it to replace my ageing Panasonic GF1, I hope this is a decent step up!

Many thanks to the OP

Good price if the one lens is going to give enough range for you. Extra lenses will cost the same again if not though!

Great price, I have the X-E2 with 18-55 and 35mm and the photos I get are outstanding. As has been stated you could probably sell these on ebay for around 225 for the lens and 150 for the camera if you are so inclined - so this is very good value, and a great introduction to the FujiFilm x-series. Beware it is highly addictive and can get expensive if you're not careful, but if you are in the market for more lenses I can't recommend the 35mm enough, it's phenomenal

This ahead of the Canon EOS 1200D or Nikkon D3200? I'm just starting to look at upgrading to a DSLR and don't want to break the bank at the start. I'm more drawn to the Nikkon but advice is welcome!

I've got a Nikon D300 that hasn't been used for a long time (it weighs a load is conspicuous), and I am sitting here weighing up selling it on and getting this XE-1 offer. While a DSLR is ultimately always going to be more flexible, I've always liked rangefinder cameras, and if you take it out with you more - its going to do better than one sat at home in a box.

Maybe you can keep the D300, it's a good pretty weatherproof camera that works quickly and still produces quality images in most daylight situations. The XE1/2 are not weatherproof. I have the XE2 and its not a complete DSLR replacement, but for many people it would be. Battery life though is no comparison, it's a million miles shorter than the Nikon, it's slower in use, autofocus not as quick, BUT it's a hell of a lot lighter and enjoyable to use. You're more likely to take it out.

Yes, that's what I am thinking. The D300 hasn't been used for a long time - I'd have to sell it for domestic-harmony reasons - but I'd get top dollar as it has low actuations, original box etc etc.

OK, I pulled the trigger on it. Came to £301.10 delivered though.

Subtotal £329.00
Delivery £4.99
Discount (PAYPAL12) -£32.90
Grand Total £301.10

Thanks OP.:)

DECENT DEAL

I don't need this at all, but it's incredibly tempting

Pretty much worth this price for the lens alone.

Damn you hduk ! had to buy it, too good to miss

Better lens and a viewfinder, allegedly better sensor without an AA filter (which hardly makes any difference in the real world) but not much else.
I've got an X-M1, love it.

I had X-E1 and X-A1 at the same time, now replaced both with X-T10.

X-A1 advantages:
- Better ergonomics (without buying additional grip)
- Better screen
- Adjustable screen
- Menus appear more responsive
- Preferred smaller size

X-E1 advantages:
- Exposure comp dial has fixed scale and you can see adjustment value by looking at the camera
- Viewfinder, although it's inferior to X-T1 and X-T10 viewfinders, optical adjustment is easy to knock by accident

Overall, I probably used X-A1 more and don't really think it's worth changing it to X-E1.

X-E1 adds in-camera panoramas, shoots 24P Video and has a seperate mic input.
The viewfinder is very high quality (better than Sony A7 IMO).
Lens is considerbly better then the 16-50 that comes with the X-A1.
Sample photos here pixelpeeper.com/cam…739

Cheers for the replies, will probably stick with my x-a1 for now although tempted to get this for the lens and then sell the xe1 body and the xa1 kit lens

The XE-1 kit has intelligible things on the dials like shutter speeds and aperture settings instead of weird hieroglyphics

Got mine though yesterday. I have the X-T1 and wanted the X-e1 as a back up. Overall I am impressed. The sensor is essentially the same as the rest of the series, so is very good. Focus is a little slow. But at this price it's a real bargain, bearing in mind that the kit would have cost nearly £1000 2 years ago.
Also, the 18-55 os lens is superb. And also remember that the lens alone costs around £400 on Amazon.
Be quick there are only the black ones left...

Can anyone recommend cases for this kit? Hoping mine will arrive early next week - fantastic bargain!

The csc case on their website looks like it's the best option for this camera. I got this camera from Fuji a couple of weeks back and regret not getting the case. I'm now back in New Zealand so can't get it now

Dam, should have ordered it when buying the camera - they were offering 25% off cases and accessories!

paypal12 only works on Refurb products and this deal has expired for now as they're out of stock.

Cracking camera and an awesome price! Heat added

Back in stock..

heat added as just managed to bag an x-e2 for £539 using this link and PAYPAL12 discount (knocked 58.90 off at checkout)

Today I have decided I do need 18-55 for my X-T10. So bought one of the few remaining X-E1 + 18-55. X-E1 going on ebay as soon as I get it.

May also sell 18mm prime. Really don't see much point in it when there is 18-55. f2.8 with OIS > f2 no OIS

Hello,
why I cant click on the deal button? It's directing to 404 Page Not Found?
so how can I get the deal then?

The deal ended 2 months ago.
