    Im unsure about this lens, the 70 to 300 is soo much lighter and smaller ... cheaper too :/
    I have the 70-300, and have just bought the 1.4TC for the extra reach - I do like the size (and price!) of the 70-300, but I do covet the 400mm. Saving up for the new 150-600mm next.

    This is a sharper lens than the 70-300 but of course there’s the trade off in size, weight and cost.
    Furthermore, at this (admittedly good) price I would rather pay the extra £200 or so and get the Tamron 150-500 which is a sharper (and longer) lens again.

    doesnt seem good value compared with an equivalent Tamron?
    This is lighter and cheaper witht he cashback right? But it does have 100mm less at the long end
