It’s a solid lens. I’m enjoying it. I’m really not used to f4 as a maximum aperture normally so I forget how restrictive that is indoors or at night. Consider this is outdoor daytime only lens imo

are you saying f4 isn't fast enough for indoors? Normally you would increase the iso when shooting indoors without flash.

It is fast enough just not ideal in low light.
The benefit of this lens is the OIS. You should be able to shoot with the shutter down to 1/4 of a second handheld without camera shake blur.

You would, naturally. I was just saying that I’m used to my faster lenses like my 56 1.2 and my 35 f2.
Really tempted by this lens... but the kit 18-55mm 2.8-4 OIS lens is almost as good with some restrictions. Feels like I should just get a fast prime. Maye a 35mm or 50mm f/2?

From the reviews ive seen the OP isnt a huge step up.
Its more versatile and has WR, but it costs over twice as much, is 20-30% larger and IQ is very close.
tbh for the £ id expect the IQ to be rated alongside the 16-55.

Its an interesting lens tho, and id go with the 'outdoor lens' thing to. I wouldnt dream of using F4 indoors or somewhere without decent light.
My very first digital camera was a Fuji back in 2001. People say Fuji colour reproduction are the best but I never liked their colour processing. I now shoot Canon and love their natural tone.

Any one saying F4 isn’t fast enough is talking tosh, unless he’s a bokeh addict...

Id rather shoot f2 and iso 800 than F4 and iso 3200, or F2 and 1/200 and not F4 and a blur. But to each there own i guess.

Re colors i saw an article recently that said Fuji actually has the most lifelike colors. The reason they tested was people love over saturated exaggerated colors so they figured thats what fuji was.
How true/accurate i dont know. But was an interesting twist on the color science.
