Fujitsu raises the bar with the introduction of its next generation 2.5-inch SATA hard disk drives with up to 125GB per platter using PMR technology. Since notebook and consumer electronics manufacturers are requiring increasingly higher capacity SATA hard disk drives in a slim package for their products, the Fujitsu PMR models are entering the market at an optimal time to take advantage of this demand.

Engineered to deliver high capacity in a small form factor, the mobile series retains the outstanding level of quality and reliability for which Fujitsu is renowned. The 5,400 RPM mobile HDDs, featuring low power consumption and low acoustic noise, are an excellent choice for today's ultra-fast, high-capacity notebook computers and consumer electronics applications.

If they are boasting that they can get 125GB on a platter why is this drive only 60GB?

Great deal ... HOT

great price for this, heat added.

dont forget p&p is £4

alright if you only need or want 60Gb but poor value per gigabyte (33p) when compared to higher capacity drives (less than 20p and even as low as 14p for 500Gb drives)

For a 2.5 inch drive though?

I doubt it can be found any cheaper. Can only surmise its getting a cold on the cost per meagabyte. I good buy for a low end system or a cheap fix for a laptop with a dead drive but not much good beyond that.

Good price but who wants a 60Gb ? Thats why cold.

Yes, you can pay £40 for more than double the capacity, but that's not the point.

This is the cheapest price I've seen a laptop drive at.

it may be cheap for 60GB but when 320GB is only £40 I cannot understand why anyone would only buy a 60GB drive

Because they haven't got nearly that much data the need to carry around with them and would rather save the extra £20?

Don't get me wrong, space is king for me but on my laptop I've used something like 20GB of 120GB. I could happily work with a 60GB drive if the 120GB drive in mine died. I have TBs of network storage for keeping stuff on.

£19.99 + £3.99 delivery at Misco for same drive.

Who stores more than 20gb on a laptop anyway? ... laptops are the most likely item to break, get lost or stolen ...

Ah well .. we're all different I guess.

lol, everyone who votes cold is just silly, seriously nothing wrong with the drive or GB capacity, perfect size for most laptops. still gets my vote. obviously you can get better & higher capacity drives for alittle more but this is less money, and great for a budget drive, and excellent price for a refurb laptop
