Hot from me.

CPU looks pants at first glance, but its as fast as most Core 2 Duos. It's the same as a first generation i3 but without the virtual cores. A good laptop for the price.

I really don't see how this laptop for this price is cold? Could you possibly point me in the direction of a better deal?

Thanks, was buying the 2GB RAM and 320GB HDD version from ebuyer @ £280 for a friend. Cancelled that and got this instead! You won't get much better for <£300

Girlfriend has this.

Sure it's not quite my Desktop i7 920 @4GHZ with 12GB of ram and SSD, but it does pretty much everything fine for every day tasks - coming from someone who is used to a lot faster!

For under £300 you used to be confined to Celerons or extremely cut down chips - this is more than enough for iTunes, word, chrome etc. 4GB is worth it over the 2GB for sure though. Not sure if the CPU can be upgraded or not, not had it opened up yet.

I bought one last week. Speakers are terrible but otherwise it's well made and I'm very pleased with it. I think these tend to get under-rated on here because they're low-spec machines but for most people they will do the job fine. HOT!

Edit: Paid £280 last week (don't forget quidco - but only a measly £1.85!)

Just bought another 4gb stick of RAM from Crucial for £18... still sub £300!

Original Poster

Just received mine from Dabs, installed the extra RAM and fired up - set up takes a while because Fujitsu in their wisdom have included a bunch of BS trial software... uninstall it.

Once set up I was really surprised with how quick the laptop loaded applications etc. Absolute bargain!

Correct, it's not the same as the i3, but has the same architecture so performance in most applications is similar.

Still a great deal as there's nothing as good as this around for under £300.

Bought - thanks!!

Does anyone know if the graphic card be able to play the latest games?

Can the laptop run BR rip's via the HDMI on a plasma OK?

Thanks

>> Does anyone know if the graphic card be able to play the latest games?

The graphics are Intel on-board graphics , this does not have a dedicated graphics card. So no.

Thank you OP. Just bought one for my daughter & the extra ram from Crucial - thanks for the steer. Hope it stands up to daughter-abuse as well as her existing HP laptop has over the past 3yrs!

I bought 2 AH531 for my daughters at Christmas and they are superb machines for the money. I now need another for another family member but cannot see the difference between this model AH530 and the two I bought at christmas (AH531). hotukdeals.com/dea…094

Thanks just ordered one.

Thinking of ordering this as I need a cheap lappy to do work.

I'm not much of a pc gamer but this will still run Football Manager like a breeze right? that's always a must

for anyone needing help removing bloat, install a program called PCDECRAPIFIER
this will get rid of all the trials etc that comes with a new PC in 1 go and save you time

I have the one with the i3 proccessor and I think it's an absolute bargain not had 1 problem in 4 months so far very happy

Do you have to pay £39.99 for the 1 year warranty or does that come as standard?

Will this play 1080p files okay and ouput it to TV via the HDMI okay ?

cheers

Those that have upgraded the RAM, which specific 4GB stick did you buy, as there are a couple of options on the Crucial website? crucial.com/uk/…RAM

This deal has a P6200 processor (based on the same Arrandale architecture as say an i3-330M) it's a decent processor and I think this is a good deal. The deal at Christmas had a B950 processor (based on Sandybridge architecture) - that in theory has better CPU and graphics performance, it was just as good a deal despite being being £10 more expensive.

It should have no problem - but maybe an owner can confirm that for you.

Many Thanks

A good discussion going on so i want to give my opinion hope will not bother anyone, price is really not too bad under 300, but i will tell u,i bought 3 months ago Lenovo E520 which is for sure better then Fujitsu brand and that one is second generation i5 only in 348 from dabs, i am sure lot of friends aware of that deal which i found here, due to some reason i sold that laptop because i was not satisfied.

Please don't compare in stupid way that it is from same processor series so this is same as i3, if u don't know about Intel processors please go and read, this is Pentium chip, after this dual core and then core 2 duo then i3 series started, so a big gap between these line of processor. Companies are doing a trick they installed big Rams and run windows 7, which is not a bad idea though. But my point is simple if we invest some money then it must be on some thing which gives at least few years on the basis of performance, as new high power software's and applications arrive on continuous basis.

I didn't mean to compare 'in a stupid way' that this is the same as an i3 processor; however you are mistaken if you think it uses a different architecture or is 'older' - it was actually released after the first i3, i5, i7 processors and as you can see this dual core Pentium shares the same architecture
cpu-world.com/CPU…tml

Certainly if you can afford the extra money and a great deal is available for an i5 processor I'd agree and say pay the extra; and yes some Lenovo laptops are very much better than Fujitsu; but - this laptop would be suitable for most people who only want to browse the web; play HD vids and perform office tasks.

Edit: With Easter (and IvyBridge) coming better deals may be just around the corner...

Part Number: CT1441537 is the one you want.

What's our consumer rights for buying this via ebay, is it still covered by dabs or futjitsu if it breaks down as it would be if purchased in a shop?

Amazing deal this and doesn't it show off what a rip off most tablets are? When you consider how massively inferior a tablets performance is with even simple tasks like web browsing I don't think one should ever cost more than £200 maximum. Sorry for going slightly off topic :-) this is a great deal.

Ordered yesterday at 9 pm and arrived today in the biggest box they can find!

yeah it's Yodel...

Ordered one for the wife, again came in a huge box but literally was next day delivery which was excellent.

Set does take a little while but a nice feature makes it very easy to partition the drive if you wish.

Performs well and is more and adequate for her.

I work for Fujitsu and cant get them at this price so was a good £270 spent in my view.

If you want high end performance, pay more money
If you want a decent Laptop for everyday use, then I feel this is a cracking deal

I also received mine in a huge box, I thought they'd sent me four!

First boot took a while to complete, but once that's complete, It's a very nippy machine, I was really impressed with it. The only bad point is the glossy lid and mediocre speakers (They are laughable, I think I've heard an analogue phone reach higher volume!).

Thinking of buying one of those lid covers, if anyone has any recommendations I'd like to know =)

Ebuyer want £299 for the same model!

In case anyone is interested...

There are a few oddities in the hwmonitor, so I'm not sure how accurate it is.
The machine itself is pretty quiet, but you can hear the fan it's a low pitch whirring noise.

Oh, the keyboard is nice, but the space bar has a few dead zones at the bottom & both bottom corners.
