please dont say build it yourself, not everyone knows how to build a computer. here is a monitor to go with this mean machine hotukdeals.com/ite…-w/
next best price i can find ecluding delivery
£540.99 at misco misco.co.uk/app…012

edit: some people still say build it yourself, so i decided to spec up a similar pc at ebuyer
£528.72 with free delivery, this configuration has windows vista home premium 64 bit sp1, so you can save about £70 if you decide not to use vista and go for something like linux. I have also chose 1066mhz ram to match the fujitsu pc, but there are slightly cheaper alternatives out there that are a bit slower. This configuration also incudes keyboard, mouse and card reader.

Nice find, ty! Voted hot.

I don't think it will support ]Windows 7 XP mode + intel.com/pro…htm, but will I need that I ask myself? Probably not..

Reading the pdf spec. on the slightly later model (the pi3635), the PSU is probably 400W (no other PSU data in the spec PDF) so there's a fair probability you would have to upgrade the PSU if you wanted to upgrade the graphics card at some point.

most manufacturers like dell, mesh, acer are like that, they give you the lowest wattage psu reqiuired for your pc.

Seems like a good deal.

Looks like 2 x 2G DIMMs, so can this be upgraded to 8G and use a 64-bit OS?

what would a company use an entertainment/ gaming computer for? what hard drive do they use?

build one yourself and save £'s.

I'm trying to configure a similar computer, but it ends up costing more. Where should I be looking for parts so that I can build cheaper than this?

What format is your HD camcorder? What software will you be using for editing?
Most camcorders now use AVHCD which is very CPU intensive so it’s best to use software that is optimised for quad core or higher.
Intel currently have the best platform, Core i7, but they are releasing cheaper versions in early September which are only lightly cut down. The new chipset is the P55 and confusingly the compatible CPUs are Core i3/i5/i7 and it uses dual channel DDR3.
Otherwise the Phenom II platform is also strong but overall Intel is still king of the hill especially for very demanding applications.

Erm, testing the games & applications we make and for the graphics guys [designers & programmers].

No idea, I'll ask the tech guy when I see him!

In defense of the systems that do work, they don't half kick a**. :-D

i tried to reply to your pm but you disabled receiving pm, you must of diabled it by accident go to the control panel then edit option and tick the checkbox enable pm. It seems you fixed it now since i was able to msg u. This PC is much faster than the mesh PC, can play blu ray and you can game on the fujitsu pc. You cannot play blu ray or do any gaming on the mesh pc.
meshcomputers.com/Def…el1 the mesh pc is a complete package. so if you buy this pc from ebuyer you need a 22" monitor costs about £100-120 and 5.1 speakers about £40.
you mentioned a medion e 6300 at aldi i do not live near aldi and the medion shop website does not work, so unless you provide any further information i can not recommend it.
if you decide to buy this pc from lambdatek and to suit your £600 budget you can get these speakers hotukdeals.com/ite…pe/ and this monitor hotukdeals.com/ite…cr/ thats a total of £607.97 if my maths is right.

I'd maybe rather go for that one as I don't want a Bluray player and you'll pay a premium if you do want one. Although the smaller HDD puts me off the Misco one I will end up buying it over this because of the extra £16 Quidco on Misco purchases bringing it down to ~£444 if you buy from Misco.

Heat and rep added nonetheless for the effort you have put in to this thread.
