Shame they don't do this as a 1u :-(

BE CAREFUL:[/u] It looks like the server is NOT V2, but the older version. The poster's description is incorrect.

The product code is: VFY:T1003SC070IN

Which is a V2!, ebuyer even list it as a V2, cannot be beaten for the price, ordered!

So what is difference between this one and that one: ebuyer.com/619…0gb, besides second one having V2 in name and costing almost twice as much?

Apparently nothing other than price... a comparison of the P/Ns suggests everything is identical.

How does one get free next day delivery?

I've been pondering a Microserver Gen8, but this is almost too good to pass up. Lack of ILO and USB3 on board are the only things holding me back... decisions.

I logged in. Went to pay and said free next day delivery

How compatible is this with ESXi? Are the NICs natively supported etc?

ESXi 5.0 - 5.5 will load and run without tinkering, but only 1 NIC is operational OOTB, and you need to set the disks to AHCI mode, rather than use the on-board "RAID hardware". You can enable the second NIC by loading a community supplied driver. More info in this thread on the VMWare forums communities.vmware.com/thr…050

I got mine and its a V2 chip so newer one.

cjed - Thanks for NIC info for ESX will give it a try.

If i will order it today will i qualify for cashback ?
Cashback form says that offer ends 31st March, and doesnt have any place to put date of purchase so im assuming that we need to fill the form before that date, and its not possible to receive serial number to do so? Am i right?

I echo cjed's comments, I made a customised ISO for ESXi with a Supermicro X9SCL board with the same NIC configuration, a bargain NIC is a HP NC360T which is a dual Intel NIC and fully supported in ESXi, also very cheap on eBay.

Mine will be here Monday so will be submitting it then as I will have the serial number, though it does say offer valid will be valid for 30 days after purchase and offer was there when you bought the item i'm sure it should be okay even if argued, as ebuyer are a Fujitsu reseller and sure they wouldn't want to lose that status, also DSR protects you as you can just send it back if the webpage has expired by the time the server is received, just RMA it for any reason under DSR. The serial number should also be on the server box so no need to open it.

Gen 8 Microserver = iLO needs a licence, about £129 I think?. Also when warranty expires you CANNOT download firmware (BIOS) etc from HP and also a nightmare to install Linux etc on.

Any cheap switch/router to make NIC teaming work with (particularly WS2012 Switch depended teaming) ?

Pre-OS iLO isn't licensable IIRC, you need to purchase the Essentials/Advanced license to use it once the OS has booted, at which time you can remote in anyway. I'll be running W2012r2, so not worried about Linux support.

You raise a valid point with regards to the BIOS though. I do wonder how well HP will be able to keep the BIOS updates for something like the MS behind closed doors though, and oddly I've just been able to download the latest update from HP for the MS without entering a serial at all (though this was posted after the policy change, the firmware is dated before, so maybe that's why)

Yeah noticed you can upload the invoice, so have gone for it, although read some comment somewhere that they were waiting for cashback for over 6 weeks.

Is there any major difference in features between the Fujitsu and the Dell Poweredge T110 here for £299.

serversplus.com/ser…1yr

I know it has less ram and hdd, but then you dont have to go through cashback, was wondering if the dell has any useful features in comparison.

The Fujitsu has 6 SATA I think the Dell has less, the Fujitsu will also take more than 4 drives if you screw some in. Also the Fujitsu looks more generic rather than Dells proprietary set up.

Both dell and Fujitsu are the Intel C202 Chipset, also the V2 Ivy Bridge is a lower TDP than the Haswell V3 version, so actually happy these are Ivy Bridge.

Dell has a reverse mounted motherboard and only 1 LAN port

Dell and HP can be funny with aftermarket parts too...

Ummmm I'll put the trial on there, a slic table may be in the bios so might activate lol

I had 2012 running on a HP N54L Microserver really well.

Looks like the cashback link is not on the ebuyer site anymore. Was the link always fujitsu-promotions.com/ser…us/ ?
is that not if you buy it from serverplus?

Cashback offer expired on the 31st March 2014 - I'm not sure why Fujitsu have a seperate page for each supplier - the (now expired) link for ebuyer was : fujitsu-promotions.com/ebu…er/

Thanks for the link, my one is being dispatched so wanted to make sure I could claim the cashback before I started messing around with it. The price has gone up to £443.97 so with the cashback it is a bargain.

Filled the form in on Monday, had an e-mail the next day to say cashback confirmed and will be on it's way to me soon, I opted for BACS.

My one arrived today and I have sent off the claim form.

That link has reappeared on ebuyer and the cashback offer is now valid until 30th April 2014. My invoice was actually dated 01/04/14 so probably saves me alot of hassle.

Not much SATA power cables in there.
No PCIE/AGP power cable.

You guys know any solution for those?

The Cashback arrived in my account the other day, didn't get any email or anything about it though.
