cold? brrrrr now you have totally put me off

500 quid for views of... water.
better spend 200 quid for a 7 day trip of the carribean. Princess, Carnival, Holland America all do the Carribean

Great price. How long do you actually get in New York?

I think sailing into NEW YORK on such a great ship is worth every penny

So says who? Lots of people sail on the QM2 purely because it's the QM2. Then add to that sailing into New York on such an iconic ocean liner, like Lynn44 said, it's worth every penny to some. Each to their own after all.

You can book this Saver Fare price direct via Cunard - they control the prices TA's sell their cruises for anyway. Just search for M427B

Wish I could go!

Yeah, but this is on a decent ship. Oh, and don't forget your £600 for return flights.

You'd be better paying the extra £850 for the Cunard fare and get:

On board spending money
or, car parking in Southampton
or, return coach travel to Southampton
or, airport parking on selected Fly-Cruises

Super price but I am prepared to take Oscar Wilde's word that The Atlantic is for the most part rather boring,
and when it isn't boring you don't want to be there.

Stuck on a boat in freezing weather for 8 nights with no escape this isnt a holiday its more like a prison sentence. No sun bathing no out door pool no nothing that involves out door activities.

Cold

You don't fancy it then?

Amazing I'd love this

But,the other half doesn't do boats

Mind,6 days of peace, that would be well worth paying for two just for me

8 nights on a posh ferry to New York, only to fly straight back? Maybe I should walk to Southampton, take a look around the ship and then catch a train straight back home...

Cold...rather spend it on an iphone 6.........not really but i noticed no-one else had mentioned it on this thread.

excellent!! cheers!!

Winter North Atlantic. Say no more.

+1

I love a cruise, but ones where you get to see lots of places. £500 to see lots of water in the cold doesn't sound too appealing.

Price generally does drop to around this level at this time each year for January.
Watch out £399 is the price point to aim for here, it was that price 2 years ago, and could well drop to that if demand is low.
Something I'd love to do, but the mid-Atlantic in January isn't going to be for people who aren't in ship-shape condition! plenty of 'highs and lows' . . .

Its a ship not a boat

you wish - form an or-dailly que

this is a decent late deal, at a good price ( as usual with Stacy ) , the only other points I would make are these:

Drinks are not included and you cant pay cash onboard for them, you get a bill at the end to settle ( meaning overspending is possible )
There are inbuilt "tips" which are added to a LOT of the stuff you do onboard, almost everything TBH - you can opt out or buy a drink package but some tips are still included, opting out is a bit of a kerfuffle and you can look like a tight wad....

having said this, its still a good deal!

Don't forget to get the daily service charge removed. They charge it to your card by default.

Go to the purser's desk and they'll ask you why you don't want to pay, but they can't make you pay it. Sign the form and you'll save yourself a nasty shock later on.

Been wanting to do the transatlantic cruise for quite a while now.

This deal is the wrong way round for me - 2 reasons:

1. you want to fly out, spend a few days shopping and sightseeing and get the QM2 back as you can bring as much as you can carry on the liner. Great for Christmas or any other shopping!

2. coming back on the QM2 means you adjust to the time zone changes gradually so you are fresh as a daisy once you return to Southampton.

Been on the QM2 before it is amazeballs. Make sure you pack lots of nice clobber to wear!

Too many extras to pay on top of the headline price, eg £300 from a regional airport, on board tips, service charges. Not for me

Why nearly £300 more for Glasgow when the flight is almost an hour shorter....

8 nights on a boat oOGood price, but no thanks

It is a ship!!! not a boat!

Took the QM2 for 3 days from Hamburg to Southampton for £100 posted on HUKD about 1.5 years ago. Very luxurious boat, best part about it was the food. There's also heated pool & jacuzzi area with glass roof which will be great for this time of year. If you want to do trans Atlantic this is probably the boat you want to do it in. We got our service charge removed, no questions asked. If it was £400 I'd do it in a heart beat.

Would love to go but cannot get time of work, such a good deal though!!

Most reasonable people do tip on cruises unless the service is poor.

Just done a 14 night transatlantic cruise, best time was probably the 5 days at sea crossing the Atlantic. It has nothing to do with views of water.

Watch out for icebergs.

doesnt it get a bit monotonous stuck indoors with nothing to all day unless you like gambling, boozing & swimming? oO

Lets hope Kate Winslet isn't going.
