The 32gb emmc drive will be garbage but as it's the 3x you can put a proper ssd in it.....i forget which type now. But there is a slot on the bottom which makes it very easy to do.

That would then make it a decent browsing machine.

This or the Coda Spirit?

I'd go for new (Coda spirit) despite the slower CPU. These refurbs are a mixed bag. Note that desciption for this deal says
"Cosmetically they would bear marks and moderate to heavy scratches, marks or dents."

This FIVETECH should be in better condition :- ebay.co.uk/itm…810
This is £92 for the N4200 Pentium. Its an "A grade" but for ALL refurbs **test thoroughly on arrival**

I'd rather go with this fivetech even though it might be a bit of lottery as to the condition of the machine.
Bit dubious about the battery condition on refurbs. Been caught a few times where the battery last no where near the original spec. Most places that sell refurbs don't cover the battery under warranty.

To be fair they can't be that old based on when the n5000 was released
Been using this the past 2 weeks and its a very nice machine , it boots up fast , very fast for browsing and the screen is awesome ! Looks and feels premium too with the silver metal chassis . I got a Wd green m.2 2280 ssd to upgrade the storage , but tried last night and not having much luck , first time ever doing an os clone but i will persevere to get it migrated across .
Got one of these last week and put this SSD in amazon.co.uk/dp/…R9S and cloned the other drive and it's now a zippy little machine for under £120 (including SSD. It's a bargain!!!

P.S. Remember to install the SSD upside down (label sticker is not showing).
The N5000 makes this a bargain, makes a real difference in general performance and snapiness over the dual cores. Definitely wants more storage though.
I’m confused? Does this get you 5 or 3 or just the one?
Received mine today, very light scratches on the lid other than that looks new. Build quality on it is utterly insane. With the exception of the hinges which are a tad light weight, could easily pass for an apple product. Very very happy for the money
its a geobook 3x these are returns from currys

i bought a couple months ago from another seller for £75 each

Is it an IPS panel, do you know?
londonguy08/01/2020 15:31

it is laminated glass also.

Yeah the screen is very very nice. The only criticism of it is that has a noticable blue tone to it
Could I play FM2020 on this (I know obviously at a lower rating but would it it be playable)?
So annoyed, bought this but got a N4200 spec laptop. 2nd time this has happened now!

We've 2 32gb machines and for a couple of months one of the big windows updates would just send it round in a loop if you tried to update it, and the continual nagging screen to say your windows update was "ready" was annoying. MS obviously patched it as we woke up one day to it being fixed and allowing different installation options.

Emmc drives are also very slow.

Much better off investing in a proper ssd for it and you'll notice a massive difference.

you need to set your wifi connection to ‘metered’ in the wifi settings on laptop

that will stop the auto updates, then remove the the downloaded files from
C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\Download

to free up space,

im only going to use mine for web browsing netflix etc , so the emmc speed is fine for that for me.

To be honest, I was pleasantly surprised by how quick the emmc was. Can't wait to get the ssd in the machine as am sure will make I big difference

Thanks, was the only flap with 2 screws. Installed ssd, clone etc ... happy with the upgrade.

Any idea how to get it out of sleep using power button or other key combinations ?

I have to long hold the power button which shuts it down and left with only option to restart.
Guys - please check you got the N5000 models. I ordered two and got N4200s instead!

99% I got the 3x model which is n5000 but will double check. First thing I did was remove the tacky looking fivetech stickers to reveal geobook markings under neath. Just to check you ordered from the link I sent?

I did indeed, both are being returned with their return labels so at least it hasn't cost me anything.
