And face value is???

jeepers, this is worse than us stamp collectors buying FDC's with no postal function. And THEY put postage prices up!
29 x 50p = 14.50....collectors album may be worth a few £. But in short you're paying an additional £35.25 for?

Tell you what, for those who think this is a hot deal I will sell you my money at a cost of three times it's value. It's still cheaper than this.
Undecided about this. I have a full set which we just collected over time through shop change. I thought the original price was extortionate given that it holds £14.50 of legal tender. Also consider that (unless things have changed) the folder is no longer available to buy separately and that E-Bay sellers are more "money grabbing" than the Royal Mint, this is still a deal since it has not been offered at this price before.

I've decided now - have some heat.

I think because these coins have and are now hard to find in chance as they are highly collectible.
Bearing in mind the albums are being flogged on Ebay for anything upto £30 plus postage, the coins are quite difficult to find and to get the full set in mint condition this may actually be worth considering and could actually increase in value over the years. Because of that and it's £40 less than Royal Mint were originally charging i've given heat.
My son has been trying to collect these from change in the shops but so far only has about six in his folder, I am tempted but I am struggling to bring myself to pay over the odds....heat added all the same as it is a good reduction.

supply and demand my friend - otherwise you'd expect to pay 1p for a penny black

Think you mean just over 0.4p
Like a lot of others I can see this could be considered a good deal but still extortionate. I got my son the collectors album and he only needs 3 more coins to complete his set but we just check our change & ask friends & family to do the same.

Why not post on here which are needed? Im sure many members will have them sitting in their pockets right now!

The nicer members may even post it to you at cost. TBH, im not really one of them though.
If the value of the coins is £14.50 & the folders going for around £30 on eBay surely this can't be a bad deal then? After all this will be a mint condition set provided by the royal mint. Heat added

Very true, to add, these are made at a higher quality than standard coins in circulation.
this is a bad deal im also haveing troble geting these as im puting mine in a folder so if anyone wants to swop let me know (_;)
I have managed to collect some of the coins for my two kids but now need a folder to put them in x2. As someone else said- considering the folders were given away for free by Royal Mint- it is a real rip off when people are now selling them on Ebay EMPTY for £50+ I don't know who is the most money grabbing! - If any one has a spare folder or two please let me know! I myself though am going to get 2 of the Paralympic £5 coins they are also selling half price for £7.50 each rather than £15...postage still needs to be paid.

Not a bad idea actually - anyone got the ROWING - TRIATHLON or CANOEING coins? If so please let me know.
I don't see why this is such a cold deal. Think of it as you're actually buying souvenirs that have a guaranteed minimum value. Voted Hot. Thanks Kurisu87, it was useful for me.

also dont see why this is so cold,

since if you add this with the album offer also on hotdeals (you get both a full 30 coin set and 2 albums *one inc with this set* for £49.95, and if you look at the full set in album on ebay they £75+ and the albums are each £20+,

what im going to do is get set + album and have someone else get the some

so i get 2 full coin sets inc albums and 2 albums on there own for £99 (and 8%/£7.xx off from imutual *another cashback site*) *and save my time sorting thu bank change bags to find the ones im missing plus in the end my full set will be BU*

sell one full coin set with the album *or just since the coins are each sealed by them selfs brake them up and sell at £2.50 each*, and sell 2 x albums by them selfs, and get a totally free full coin set with the album for my self *or my child*, and still make about £30 after ebay fees,

just cos some people dont understand a hot deal doesn't make it hot lol
