You could just chuck an SD card inside to boost the storage I contemplating buying one of these to go in my cars dash with centrafuse.... (_;)
This has got expandable storage up to 96 gig via micro SD pretty good value
Oh no. Only 16gb free....oh wait, that's the total you get in an iPad BEFORE OS, etc and that's £100 more and is restricted to mobile apps. HOT.
Hot from me. It's $329 on Amazon US (before tax) so the UK doesn't seem to be getting shafted too badly.

As far as I know, the Toshiba and the Acer W4 are the only 8 inch Bay Trail Win8.1 tablets which have hdmi output (the Lenovo Miix 8 and Dell Venue 8 Pro don't) for now, so I'm going to be getting one before Christmas. Assuming the battery life is moderately good.
Brilliant price and Office is included in this I presume? Are there any keyboard docks available for this?

Includes 6 months of xbox music sub 7 skype mins. Office is about £70 as well. Good deal.

For those wanting more memory and larger screen the Asus version : ebay.co.uk/itm…085?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

I have bought Acer W3 64GB off ebay for £200 with original Acer keyboard and I am more than happy with it despite negative feedbacks about the battery. But looking at the price of this one I do not think I would buy Acer W3 if I would be purchasing again.
Nice find as I've been waiting for these to land to see what pricing would be like.

Just a shame I spent my monies on the Moto G though wanting to see what the Venue Pro 8 pricing is like first from Dell.
I think I'm going to wait for the Dell Venue 8 Pro. Not sure why but I just prefer Dell.

But this and the Lenovo miix2 2 8 all look very very similar.

Argos refurbished is hit & miss - they DO NOT refurbish ! - what they do is sell returns as refurbished, without even bother checking them, and give you 12 months warranty which is managed by a 3rd party. To be fair - the company that manages the warranty are pretty good & fix/return within a few days.
So - you might get a return that is mint, or you might get something broken/missing. I got a refurbished laptop from them - which was filthy & didn't work. Called the company who manages the warranty & they collected, fixed & returned in less than a week.

That Asus ME400C has a last generation CPU.

The ASUS T100 would be a better alternative. More expensive but you get a keyboard, better battery life, better graphics, better performance.
Waiting on the price of the Dell Venue pro 8 and the Lenovo Miix 2. Regardless of which make these Windows 8 tablets looks incredible.

If they fix the stylus issues on the Dell it will be the best. Pen on Windows 8 make a major difference for navigating the desktop.

This. Both tablets have been priced at $299 so hopefully they will be cheaper than £250.

Also the Dell Venue Pro 8 has an active stylus (sold seperately) which is VERY helpful if you are going to be using desktop mode.

Going by the price of the Venue Pro 11s over here it appears we are going to get shafted price wise.

I'm seriously considering importing from USA but stock is scarce over there too.

Ignoring the VAT (Dell can't do anything about that) I think Dell are selling it for less here. So I'm hopeful for a decent price.

But Dell have more sales than DFS, I can never seem to find the same price twice.

Haha yeah I had been saying to myself wait for them to come in at the Outlet but I think that may be too long for me!

To be fair, they only have the i3 priced up over here but before hand the talk was of price starting at £349 plus vat for the 11 so £420. Just can't see the base model being priced £260 lower as the difference in processor and storage shouldn't be that much but hopefully I'm wrong

Still tempted with one of these though just to try the whole windows on a tab thing but everything I've read sounds really good.
This is HOT, but I'm waiting for Lenovo Miix 2 with 128 GB eMMC storage and Stylus-Pen.

"Lenovo has unveiled an 8in tablet running Windows 8.1, the Miix2.
The company first showed off the device at Computex earlier this year, and now says the tablet will be available to buy in the UK in November for £270 inc VAT."
I'm not voting as I think it is a good machine (screen resolution is a bit poor though) but I'm not sure why you would need a full version of W8 in the palm of your hands. Having said that, if Windows store starts getting as populated and cheap as the Play store, I'd jump on it instantly.
I'd be surprised if dell have the venues at a decent price if the older latitude 10 is anything to go buy. Once you start adding extras the price climbs quite quickly. I think the full price of my latitude 10 was nearing the xps convertible price once I'd added the 128gb, win 8 pro, docking station, stylus, wwan card, fingerprint reader and smart card reader. I'm glad I got everything for around £330 but even that looks dear compared to the price of this deal I suppose.

Considering lenovo have the current Miix listed as 'starting at £399.00', I think you're dreaming if you think they'll actually release the Miix 2 with 128GB at £270, regardless of what anyone said.

I dont get why some think that having a tablet with M$ Office is such a great idea? Personally speaking, I only ever use Office on a PC at work and have absolutely no need / want to have work based applications on a tablet which is an entertainment device.

Office, for me, is not a selling point.
is it possible to install a different OS on these tablet? I mean install windows 8.1 pro (most of them comes with windows 8.1 only except dell one I think) , linux .etc. if the tablet can boot from usb then it should be ok? any idea? thanks!
This has GPS which may be the clincher for me but are there any satnav apps for windows 8.1 PCs?

Well, that's you. For me it is handy to write documents on the go in Word. More importantly I don't want a laptop and a tablet, I want one device that does everything, and has everything in the same place. Also with these mini Windows tablets you can expand them, plug in a usb mouse, keyboard and an external monitor and use it as if it's a desktop. Suddenly you've got a full computing system and Office on a 27" screen. So sure you could buy an iPad/Android tablet and a laptop/desktop - but then you spend more and don't have your files synchronised between the two systems.

Make sure you choose the right Win 8.1 tablet...only this and the Lenovo have micro HDMI (I think). The Dell Venue 8 Pro ommitted the HDMI port for some unfathomable reason! Also, the processor speeds are different on the tablets. The Venue 8 Pro is 1.8Ghz, this Toshiba is 1.33Ghz.
It would be nice if the product engineers on these tabs just thought - what do consumers really want. Micro HDMI and fast performance...ok, HDMI and 1.8Ghz it is.
Flash player in browser and the millions of programs already available for the Windows platform make full blown Windows in tab form a win for me.

Office is just a bonus imo.
