Episodes 1 - 13

Alchemy - the mystic science of transmutation. Gifted alchemists can break down and reconstruct matter using the "Law of Equivalent Exchange," creating miraculous things. But one taboo can never be broken - human transmutation. The Elric brothers Edward and Alphonse broke the taboo in an attempt to resurrect their late mother and as a result, lost everything.

Al's soul was transferred to a suit of living armour and Ed lost two limbs, confining him to mechanical auto-mail. To recover what they've lost they embarked on a journey to find the fabled Philosopher's Stone. The closer they get to the hidden truth of the Philosopher's Stone, the deeper they fall under shadowy schemes and the perils of unnatural creatures.

The military nation of Amestris, the grudges and hatreds of a persecuted people, and the countless tragedies caused by alchemy all form a dark vortex that will draw people and countries into its void. The Elric brothers forge ahead in their quest to transmute despair into hope...

Manga Home Entertainment has announced today that it will discontinue Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood on Blu-ray. Manga had released so far two FMA titles in the UK: Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Part One in August and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Part Two just one week ago. This "difficult decision" has been caused by "the high production costs of producing the series on Blu-ray and the disappointingly low sales of Part 1 and 2 on the format."

Therefore, there will be no new Blu-ray sets released by Manga Entertainment after Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Part Two. Part 3 and subsequent installments will be released on standard definition only.

Jerome Mazandarani, Marketing Manager from Manga Entertainment, has offered his sincere apologies to all fans that will be disappointed with this decision:

"It is never our intention at Manga Entertainment to disappoint our very loyal customers who we appreciate enjoy collecting a complete series on their favorite format. However, the exceptionally high inception costs involved in releasing the series on Blu-ray and the relatively small sales we enjoy in the UK have made the endeavor unviable. I cannot apologize enough to the fans that have already started collecting the series on Blu-ray for the disappointment this may cause them."

In the US, this series is being published by FUNimation Entertainment, which not only has already released Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Part 1 and Part 2 (both of which, incidentally, are currently on sale and can be bought for a mere $19.99), but also has announced Part 3 for December 28 and Part 4 for March 2011.
