totally agree with you!

and mostly all sold out

I ordered a load of stuff in the matalan sale only to get an email 7 days later saying everything I ordered was now out of stock but they had taken the money out 6 days before I got the email!!! poor customer service there at the mo

I think you find they have broken the law, under distance selling. The contract is initially formed when they accept the offer, and completed when they take money. So they are legally bound to supply you the goods.

Surely the most important thing is not the amount of discount, but the true value of the item you are buying - it's a bit like the useless rrp quoted for many electrical items just so a store can advertise a huge discount.
I've always thought of Matalan as a cheap and shoddy retailer, a bit like a poorer imitation of primark (who are not as cheap and such great value as they used to be either), so that their prices don't indicate the real worth of something.
I'm sure your leggings are ok for the price you paid, but doubt they were worth the original price.

Definitely not as good as last year, got a few bits last week but went in again yesterday to see the further reductions - practically non existent.

Haven't been struck by sale fever online at all yet...even the Superdrug sale was pretty pants compared to last year's.
