Picked this up at the weekend and my kids have written their first Hello World program (and had a quick go on Minecraft). Very impressed with it.

Please don't confuse this for some Raspberry Pi bundle where someone has bundled lots of random stuff. This is a well packaged and polished complete kit including full blown manuals guiding you through your first program with an SD card fully loaded with educational software, an io board and breadboard with leds, a mouse, power lead.

All you have to do is add a TV or monitor and you're good to go.

This starter kit is currently around £129 on the fuze website (albeit with a v3 pi). This is the v2 Raspberry Pi version.

Check out the Fuze website for more info: fuze.co.uk/

Voted hot. The Pi is a great educational tool and yes there is lots of material out there to be found.
The point of this bundle is a parent technophobe can buy it and know their kid can make a start. All without worrying about what they have missed.

Yep. I already had an unused Pi v2 and even a Pi Zero but I was never going to get around to setting up an SD card or connecting it all up like this but there is no assembly involved with this and the big thick manuals and metal casing are excellent.

My kids sat down with the manuals typing in code like I did 30 years ago and they loved it. Soon they'll be doing the exercises with different leds. I might even get them the robot arm.

10 and 13. They've already done some Scratch at school (which is also bundled with this along with the Fuze Basic, Python and, I think, Java)

My eldest is only 7,might be a bit beyond her interest yet...

Ordered. Looks great for the money. Hot

I grabbed one of these a couple of weeks ago on impulse, worth remembering the 10% NUS discount in store if you're eligible!

Not set mine up yet, but looks a fantastic piece of kit.

For younger kids try fusion for pc from clickteam there is a free version. It allows kids to learn how to create games and apps without knowing code. It is also used by game developers to create commercial games such as 5 nights at Freddys. Great fun for kids and may spark the interest to go on to learn code. My son started with fusion around 7 and is now getting ready to go to college to study python.

This could also be used to run retro pie giving you numerous 80s computer emulators such as the speccy.

Voted hot. Just ordered the Pi3 a few days back from a deal that was on here from Gearbest. Already thinking of cancelling that and getting this. Just what I've been looking for, for my kids.

Would keep the Pi 3 order as there’s the lower spec Pi 2 in this kit. Best to have a spare Pi or 2

got the same deal on amazon Amazon

£5 off orders over £50, so £64.99

If you order this item from Amazon (for the same price) you appear to get the system box bundled with a Pi3 (according to the comments on the Amazon page). So the Amazon 'deal' appears that it could be better than this deal ?

Can anybody who ordered one from Amazon recently confirm what model of RPi they received ?

Which page are oyu looking at?
According to THIS AMAZON PAGE it doesn't have any comments or reviews suggesting a v3?

From the web page that you provide a link for:

Answer: Hi
Yep, actually the FUZE T2-A & T2-R both come with the Raspberry Pi 3 (it states on here it's the older V2 but it is 100% V3). The T2-B and C models can be fitted with the Pi V1 B+, V2 or V3.

Will do just that. Thanks

Has anyone who bought one of these received theirs yet? I had a shipping email come through yesterday but a couple of hours later I received a PayPal refund?

Thanks for this. I picked mine up in store today and got a 10% discount because the box was in appalling condition.
Thanks OP :-)

This or a Kano ? Which I understand is very similar but in a fancier box ???

£119 on special offer for a Raspberry 3 instead of v2 running much of the same software (Scratch, Minecraft, Python) but with the Fuze you get a box of leds. If they were the same price I'd think about it more but this is almost half the price. Is "Kano OS" going to be that good?

Hot. Ordered. Thank you! Now... where to get a cheap monitor...
