I couldn’t find a deal on this a few weeks ago when we got ours. £199 from Argos.

Great vac, big upgrade from the first and ideal for a quick and easy clean of the floor.

Great on both hard and soft floors.

Terrible build quality & customer services. I'd go for a shark instead.

But Costco has great customer service.

Really want to give this a go but have heard some bad things. Reviews mixed.
Good find. Our house is full of G tech, we have had to contact customer services twice over the years. Service is first class up there with Keter.
Great product and their customer service is brilliant. I had a few issues with my one. Handle was faulty and slowed down. They sent me a brand new handle and base unit. No charge or questions, and was delivered the next day. So don’t get why people are saying the customer services are no good via G tech.

I disagree. We owned our first one for 5 years before it finally give in. I also own a Shark, which is great. But for ease of use, nothing beats this in my eyes.

As for their customer service; when ours broke, the lady I spoke to did everything in her power to help, including offering an entire base unit, essentially everything minus the battery and dust tray for £59 I believe it was, but I fancied the new model anyway.

I couldn’t have faulted their service. Way better than the majority.

Absolutely no idea why somebody has edited this to state Wales.
Just a warning,we had one of these and after a few months one of the plastic wheels snapped off,got the vacuum replaced and the same thing happened again with that one, apparently it is a very common problem with them.
is this the latest model? does this beat the Sainsbury's phantom g tech deal of £50?

Latest model, yes.
Wouldn’t have one for free. Doesn’t pick up anything. Those that are saying they are good are lying. Try a shark and you’ll soon change your mind. No better than a carpet sweeper.

Edit: just read your previous comments, and can only assume you’re trolling.

You’re definitely lying.

I have two huskies and it does an amazing job for day-to-day keeping the floors clear of all hair.

We have a Shark duo and it’s brilliant for a deep clean, but a pain to plug in daily.

I have no idea what you’re basing your opinion on, or if you’re just trolling, but they absolutely do pickup everything, on all surfaces. But no, not as powerful as a Shark Duo, but then I didn’t expect it to be.

How do you know when you clearly have never owned one .Instead of calling HUKD members liars why not concentrate on actually contributing "A DEAL"

If you do get offered one for free take it and save it for me - or at least please do post. They are brilliant.

Same!!, the handle has come off, literally held together with a straw. Had 2 now & same problems. My osteoarthritis riddled mum nearly had a nasty fall when the handle came off in her hands. Now the wheels snapped off, if it's guaranteed under Costco then I'd chance it but not thru them directly!!.
Anyone know how long the battery life is on these?
What's the battery like on these? What's duration of warranty as Costco are really good with warranty.

It's a shame the build quality isn't up to much as it was really good at picking up.

The battery is surprisingly good, much better than my Dyson V6.

I can do a three bedroom house, several times before needing to charge.

I am not sure on warranty, as I sadly got mine from Argos. Costco typically offer much better guarantees.

G-tech customer support in my experience was also great.

My first I had for 5 years and was faultless. This feels of equal or better build quality. For someone to break the wheels, twice, I just can’t imagine what they’re doing.

It’s a fantastic vac. Costco will refund you if unhappy. But I’m fairly confident you will be pleased with your purchase.

Same happened with mine. Had it for 2 year and first had an issue with the base unit after 12 months (which in fairness customer service replaced with no quibbles) and then I had the known issue with wheel. I would not buy G-tech again. Not good build quality compared to Dyson hoover I had for 7 years before it gave up the ghost. Currently got a Henry and no complaints with that either after 2 years.
We have a first gen one and it's great for picking up dirt, but the handle on ours has worn loose over time. Held on with a cable tie now. I'd get another though.

I'm guessing that comment is aimed at me.

The 2 vacuums was used in a normal manner and not abused at all,it isn't the way we used it as there are many people who have suffered the same issue and it is because the plastic clips that hold the wheels in place aren't up to the job over long term use.

So you are a bit out of order (especially when I'm just trying to help others) to basically suggest that we somehow were doing something wrong for the wheels to break off on 2 units, especially when others in this thread have had exactly the same experience as ourselves and just proves that it isn't just a one off/us not using it properly.

Sure. I get where you’re coming from.

There has to be a difference in the way in which we use our vac. And perhaps the way in which you use it isn’t aggressive. And perhaps it’s a flaw. But it must be related to the way in which you use it.

It can’t be coincidence that the same people are having repeating issues, whilst others aren’t having any.

It would be interesting to understand the science behind it. What’s actually occurring in your use vs mine. Is it related to our height, grip, must be commonalities.

Either way, sure, it’s an issue, but you said for people to avoid them, I disagree as my experience has been fantastic.

Or maybe some are made in different factories or use different components. Heaven knows. But all I do know is ours was flawless for 5 years with daily use. And likewise, yours was terrible.

But i never did say for anyone to avoid them,if I did then could you point it out where I did? I simply gave people a warning about a known issue,in my other post i actually said that it is a good vacuum (as in picking up) and it is a shame as it is just the build quality that let's it down.

You’d need the handheld one for that.
