Specs above. I bought one of these earlier in the year when they were around £24 and it is an absolute bargain IMO. Very good video quality and is able to record number plates clearly at a reasonable distance. It records in 2,3 or 5 minute loops and recordings can be saved with one press of a button so it's not overwritten.

Crackling little camera. Had mine for a few years, no problems, just hardwire in and forget about it.

looks a bit like my nextbase 402g. Note that price is from Chinese warehouse so could be subject to taxes.

I have two of these. The video quality is Good. Only problem i had was putting the SD card into the side slot(its possible to miss the slot and drop the SD inside the casing or even put the SD in the wrong way round as theres no info showing you the way to put it in ) But after its installed the device works fine. Can be bought for less on ebay

Can't beat a bit of crackling!

Mine doesn't seem to remember the date....

I bought one from gearbest awhile back for the rear of my car. If you want to see the difference between a real and fake G1W be my guest.

I got a full refund via PayPal, and binned the fake.

Could I ask where your genuine one from and how much it cost?

Tbh even if this was not the genuine manufacturer, I've been impressed with the build quality and recording quality of the video footage, even at night. Mine definitely seems to be brighter and sharper than the one in your fake cam footage. I'm not sure if this is to do with the settings. I'll try and upload a video tonight.

probably the best budget dash cams out there.

It was from 'E-Prance' on Amazon a few years ago for about £32. They no longer seem to sell it. Prices of dashcams including the model I bought have gone up since.

Even at the time there were lots of fakes about. I'd always buy via PayPal or Amazon so that there is the ability to raise a complaint if the product footage really does look poor.

I went for the fake because it was cheap and I knew I'd be able to get my money back if it turned out to be fake. (being able to directly compare the two with a real camera was na obvious advantage here) The fake one produced a 1080p image, but it was completely extrapolated, the colour balance was off, the WDR fuction which makes night footage usable didn't work and it suffered from stuttering frames. I had everything on automatic or default settings. It may have been a one off, but I'd sooner say its a fake, with an inferior sensor, slower processor, with wobbly parts.

'Techmoan'on youtube used to be a really good reviewer of CarCameras, but he seems to no longer review nearly as many.

This guy seems to do a pretty good job with some slightly better dashcams. Generally, spending less than £40 means...
