gadget insurance?? £44 @ Endsleigh (£52.50 cashback)

Seeing that I recently purchased a Google Nexus 6 online, I thought it would be best to take out an insurance to cover the outlandish size screen. I clicked through top cashback and should hopefully receive the £52.50p cashback....here's the kicker....my insurance for the year was only £44! So looks like I may even make some money out of it? please comment if I have this wrong, I needed the insurance anyway. thought it may help some others with other gadgets you might want to cover.

I think from what I can see you are totally right. I would imagine they are hoping you forget to cancel and they would just continue the insurance at an elevated monthly premium in year 2. I'd wait for the cashback after 60 days then once you have it cancel your auto renew.

hi, I think op has tcb plus. this is what I have and it came up with the price op said. hope this helps claire.

Thanks op, just insured my phone for 40 quid so will be 12 quid up when the cashback comes through. you should change the description to say that the 52.50 is for people that pay for a subscription to tcb...

I wonder if your car/house insurance will go up if you ever make a claim for a broken phone on gadget insurance....

Could give them an easy excuse to raise premiums!?

Happy days £18 for an old Asus tab i never use

Can`t see that , when I fill a car insurance form in I am never asked if I have claimed on anything other than a car

Of course it will, you have to include any claims you have made in the last 5 years so the reverse will apply when you fill in your house/contents insurance application.

About £14 a month for £500+ is ok, I guess you're on of those who buys £1 rubber case which is f all protection

But yeah something like nationwide + cash back gives phone insurance and eu travel insurance

So I can insure some cheap piece of tat for about £16 for the year, pay £1.something per month and get £50 cash back.

£24 for a Dell Venue 7 that I paid £64 for new with £75 excess for loss...a lot of risk for making £28..and its TCB who are no longer the reliable company it once was....I'm out...

would be very cheap to insure my phone via them (actacel 1010) tho with tcbs history of account stealing i will past

as also cashback is not cashback until its in you account, so will the OP would of brought it anyways its not such a good idea for everyone, due the how TCB are at times with stealing accounts (for abuse that most hdukers like to do anyone else up to 50 - 100 bespoke 40p's yet? lol)

and if you are doing it solely for cashback insure the cheapers older phone you can find more profit, tho hope that TCB lets you keep it

What's the excess for a claim?

Its going to get hot in here

I agree that it wouldn't be for everyone, and I am not lucky enough to be able to afford an iphone 6 plus and I wouldn't assume this would be a money making idea, but if anyone is in the market for insurance for a gadget, getting £52.50 back can never be a bad thing

Decided to ensure my Apple Watch rather than my Kindle as at least it will be useful to have. As long as TCB payout, profit of £5 plus 1yrs insurance.

sweet deal

Just got this for my Oneplus... i went through gadget insurance, choose mobile phone, choose my phone model... and then in the policy document is states under 'WHat is not covered' - Mobile Phones...!? Bit randon. Gunna need to call them to clarify

Sneaky sneaky. Top cashback have just removed the cashback link from their site. I'm so please I refreshed the page before putting in my card details.

On a slight aside, if people are looking for gadget insurance with no excess, Amex My Essentials is £12.99 a month, 30 day rolling contract, and have no excess on items up to £1,000.
