Needs to be self powered and self contained power for console to work imo.
Got mine at this price when they were new. lol Not from amazon tho but there are a few complaints some may consider minor that i experienced with this product. First of all on arrival their supplied cheap and very short HDMI cable was faulty. Not a great start to me getting my first look at the product. After replacing this myself my second concern was that the case hinge does seem to be quite flimsy and cheap feel for the product. This may not seem a problem for some but say you were at a friends house and wanted to rest this on your knees like a laptop or notebook you do fear that the hinge will break or snap so i advise people keep this on a flat surface. I think the design of the case itself could have been made smaller in places to make it look less bulky but that is a personal preference. Finally on a last note i noticed in one of the pictures shown above a remote with this product. This as not mentioned in description doesn't come with any remote which i also know from owning one myself.

Yeah some may think with this being classed as mobile this wouldn't be the case and it may have a built in power supply but no to use this you would need to be in close distance with a mains power supply to power the screen on this case and the console itself.
I like this good for virgin trains just book your seat with a table, power cable right there and bob's your uncle, no more boring train journey!
Thanks for posting, wanted one of these since they came out. Great price, don't understand the cold votes at all.
if they cut the case out then I would buy this to sit on my coffee table so i could play fifa while the Mrs watches eastenders
Cool ordered at that price cheeky not to ideal for holidays and weekends away heat added these are still a lot more expensive on the net !
Bargain
Heat added as I bought mine for £200.

Noo ignore that picture with the two people using the product those side parts you think are padding are just detachable storage bags as shown in another picture above these can be removed and are more just handy for storing your xbox power cable/lead. This case is fine when it comes to ventilation for your console.
Sound like a nice piece of kit at a reasonable price.
Given that the alternative is an Alienware M17x at £1,000+ this is a great solution for gaming on the go.

I'm assuming the actual screen resolution of the panel is 1280 x 720 ?

No, just no. You don't need a laptop anywhere near that price to play games at the same graphical quality and framerate as a 360.

You misunderstood what I was saying. The only laptops that I know of with an HDMI in socket so that you can use your laptop as a portable screen for a PS3 or Xbox 360 are the Alienware M17x and M18x.
I've never had any heat issue with mine, and the sides are soft detachable storage for wires and so on. For me its a solid piece of kit.
Wanted this until I saw the Vanguard. Now want to build my own version with 19 inch screen.

Fair do, you never mentioned any of that though.

Thank you for your comments in this thread so far.The battery cells you … Thank you for your comments in this thread so far.The battery cells you would need to self-power the High Definition screen & a video gaming console would be impractical to carry. The most suitable use for this product is for travelling with accommodation that offers an AC/DC power supply or, as mentioned above, on-board a train (or other transport with electrical sockets for customer use).I bought one so that my kids could take a console to their grandparents' home without having to rely upon a separate display unit (television screen) being available at the destination. It may also come in useful with short breaks away from home that warrant an overnight stay.

The destination lol sounds like your sending them to the holocaust or something haha
